So. A few years ago for Christmas I got a video camera. My parents and cute and don't really know what they're doing when buying electronics (in my personal opinion that is)and couldn't ask me what I wanted in a camera because it was supposed to be a surprise. late late but usually you can use windows media player to rip dvds

That is for watching DVDs that are already ripped. Thanks for trying to look it up for me though. I'm quite pathetic when it comes to research. Hah.

well, put the dvd in the drive. then the computer will make a little noise and you'll get a little picture of a cd next to your cursor and a box will pop up. close it, it's easier to do it manually by going to "my computer" and RIGHT clicking on the cd/dvd drive. then click on the folder w/ video in the name. then go to start, computer. hit alt and a new toolbar will appear at the top, click "tools", then "folder options". then in the box that pops up, click "view", then uncheck "hide extensions for known file types". go back to the video folder and copy the ".vos" files off the dvd. then change the file extension from ".vos" to ".mpg" and don't change anything else. a box will open asking if you really want to do this and click yes. then you should be able to double click on the file and play it.
