Paternal Grandmother
Things have been stressful this past weekend and today. My paternal grandmother, who has been suffering with Alzheimers for two years, had a massive heart attack this past Friday... at least that's when the nursing home rushed her to the ER for swollen lips and extremeties. The doc isn't quite sure exactly when the heart attack happened. Damage to her heart was extensive, leaving it only about 25% effective. Her heart beat is averaging 140 beats per minute, weakening what isn't already damaged. Since the heart attack, she's had several blood clots to her brain... she is agitated and isn't aware of her surroundings. If someone touches her or talks to her, she gets irritated and tosses and turns. The docs wanted to do some kinda procedure on her today, but we've decided as a family that she should be allowed to die as comfortablely as possible. She is 87. I'd appreciate all the good thoughts and prayers anyone could send our way. Please pray that she goes quickly and peacefully.
