Something to make you feel better, a similar author and a singer had the same problem as yourself. They were of course best friends. They both got denied when one sent in a book he hhad written, and the other friend got denied because her demos weren't "Good" enough. They decided to see whats up. So the author sent in the best selling book that the publisher ever published, had many awards and etc, the other friend sent in early demos of a star the record producers sponsored. Responses: "Your book had poor storyline, bad character development, yadda yadda" Which are exactly why the book GOT the awards, and the music was deemed "Not worthy of any albums or quality up to the standards we endorse." Some shit like that. So don't worry. My best advice would to get your foot in the door, so they don't just outright ignore you, and to develop the persistence and ethics of a lemming, without the suicidal tendencies preferably ; ).
