(no subject)

Dear Strangers,

Well it has been a while, and it seems as though I've lost the ability to relax somewhat, but it is most likely because of the recent happenings in my life. Those of you that should know already know, so I will go on no further with the subject.

It seems that life is a contrast at the moment, the turbulent emotions mixed in with a dullish life.

Today I rented out  4 DVDs: 'Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind', 'Paycheck', 'Kill Bill Vol. 2' & 'Mona Lisa Smile'; The latter two I haven't seen although I have high hopes, but I am happy to report that Eternal Sunshine (a clever melancholic love story) is a good movie from cinematography to the story, from start to finish an enthralling ride, Jim Carey offers a great performance as Joel, unrecognisable as he doesn't take on any of 'The Mask' traits. All in all a good story with ingenuity. 5/5

'Paycheck' has it's moments as the concept of the story is a good one, but like a mediocre football side, fails to convert in the final third of the pitch. Ben Affleck carries his character well, although the talents of Uma Thurman were not fully used I thought, it seems as though the screenwrites couldn't make her character into anything more than a unconvincing sidekick, worth a look if you like action/sci-fi. 2.5/5

Other happenings in my life include hanging with christian mates from campus which is always encouraging, we watched a DVD at a friend's place last evening and had a good time. On the social side of things, it is akin to a pokerdot dress, a big blob of stuff happening one day and then blank for while, funny and sad at the same time!

Hope everyone's having a good holiday period, be safe and God bless...

Your resident hermit,

Frank
