Ok I'm not done....boykaidenAugust 31 2005, 22:22:28 UTC
Smoking pot DOES NOT prolong your life, rather in comparison to smoking nicotine, the person smoking pot is 'more' likely to live longer than the person smoking nicotine. But of course....THIS IS NOT ALWAYS THE CASE. in regards to: "i've seen lots of people sit around and get stoned all day and do nothing else. that is *my* personal experience with it." This is definitely true for a lot of people...but really this is called LAZY. Sure I'll do this too sometimes, but that's because that's what I feel like doing...being lazy. The majority of pot smokers I know are actually functioning smokers who are VERY productive people. Mind over matter. Most people just want to zone out and not do anything....but like you, I am definitely for marijuana in whatever form, but for medicinal purposes EVEN better. Even for smaller aches and pains like menstrual cramps and nausea...it really does wonders. As far as addiction goes....yes addiction is a complicated word. I 'thought' I was addicted to coffee and finally stopped drinking it EVERY day. REally it was just my need to be drinking something/anything in the morning at my desk. I've now moved on to drinking a REALLY AMAZING green tea which is SO musch better for me and fulfills my need for that warm drink in the morning. I don't know...what it comes down to is just being happy, healthy and RESPONSIBLE.....

i completely agree. i even thinking smoking 1 or 2 cigarettes a week or even a day isn't that bad for you. but i can't control it like that. that's when i know that I have a problem. everything can be okay in moderation.
unfortunately, moderation is not something that comes easy to me. with coffee, i switch to decaf in the afternoons. i've heard that green tea is really good for you. maybe i'll give a shot some time, but i really just don't care for tea unless it's iced. who knows though. maybe i'll learn to like it.
