Why is it that in all of my jobs I have only ever had one good boss. Yes, he drank all of my diet coke all of the time, but that is nothing compared to what other things I have dealt with. Why is it that when a staff manager is hired that they don't do reference checks with someone who has worked under them so that the interview committee can hear whether or not they manage staff well. In my small office there are about 6 people. I can only think of one person who is not leaving or looking for other work. And, she is part of the problem of bad management. In the last two days she has called me a liar and said that I wasn't doing my job. Funny....because everyone else said that I am doing my job. I hate her and there is no way I am going to continue to work for her.
Why can't I just find a happy place? Is there no such thing as a good manager? Is it just not possible to find?
I am meeting with the board tonight to talk about the poor management here and let them know that if they don't step in and do something they are going to experience 90% turnover once the festival ends. At least the board listens to the staff. I just wish the management did as well.
Grrrrrr.....
