Boss from Hell!
Okay, so I got pulled into my boss's office yesterday at 5 O'clock. She said that the board responded to my letter and effective Monday we will all work from 9-5. If we are requested to work late, we will be asked and OT will be payed. We will also receive OT for the conference that we worked.
So...it would seem like I won, right?
Well, she was an absolute bitch! She tried to say that she has never violated the Employment Standards Act (which is not true) and then say the ESA says nothing about breaks. So, every employee is to take their breaks at their desks and "there will be no more Starbucks runs for you".
Isn't that hilarious?! Her punishment to me is that I can't go get coffee. For one thing, she has no legal right to tell me what I can and cannot do on my personal breaks. I spoke with my lawyer who said there are definitely provisions in the act about breaks so now I just need to find it and email it to my boss.
I hate her so much. But also pitty her. It's kind of sad when they put a 5 year old in charge of a Foundation. No one she has know idea about what to do.
I"m so out of there as soon as I find another job.
