From the "Pathologic Basis of Disease"

For those who didn't know this... (and 'cause I thought it was interesting)

According to this book, a blood alcohol level of 80-100 mg/dL is the legal definition for a DUI. That is...it takes about 3 ounces of ethanol to get to this level in a ~150 lb person.

These 3 ounces of ethanol = 1 1/2 of wine (12 oz) = 8 12oz-bottles/cans of beer = 4 shots of whiskey (1.5oz each).

Habitual drinkers can tolerate up to 700mg/dL of alcohol in their blood.

I don't know about you guys, but I'm totally shitfaced after 8 beers or 4 shots of whiskey! How can that be?? Oh yeah...I'm asian. Half of us have a mutation....nevermind.

Speaking of alcohol consumption...just out of curiousity, what are people doin' for new years?
