Whats so great about driving? Driving kills people. I'm not talking about drunk driving, I am well aware that driving under the influence of any substance is very dangerous. I'm talking about everyday driving for everybody.
All people, depending on your beliefs, have the capacity for harm against themselves and against others. Call it a chemical imbalance or the devil in them, people get crazy. All they need are the right triggers, right amount of force in the right place and 'snap' there over the edge. And what are some of these triggers? Constant waiting, stress, heat, loud noises, repetitive noises. These are all elements of a traffic jam. This combination of effects is irritating to even the most humane person, and the damaged caused. There is already proof of damage links between aggravated stress levels and heart disease. Constant driving can be tiring so drivers consume stimulants like coffee and cigerattes, neither of which is very good for the body. Even with the elevated heart levels and consumption of caffeine, many drivers still fall asleep at the wheel. This leads to many fatal car wreaks every year.
Now, more then ever, we are a sociatytrying to maximize or driving and our time. We multi-task, doing sometimes two or three different tasks at a time when we drive. We talk on the phone, smoke, eat, drink, put on makeup, read, write, watch movies, change clothes, get blow jobs. We are doing all these actions when we should be driving and just driving. I'm not against multi-tasking, but I'm not gonna die or risk my life for it. Now I know that many people are able to do these actions and still drive well. You people freak me out the most. Not more so then the people who can't drive, but do it anyway. People who don't know the basic rules of the road, yet still manage to convince the state they are competent drivers. It makes me wanna slap the idiots at the DMV.
I will end this by saying that I am not a driver. I have had the pleasure of witnessing all of this from the backseat, passenger seat, or bus seat. And I have had some time behind the wheel, just in case your thinking I'm some loudmouth who can't drive. I do love driving. I love the feel of the road and the freedom of driving. Its just everyone else I have a problem with. Give me an open road and I'm fine. Rush hour traffic jams, FUCK THAT!
(this is just a rant, nothing more or less)
