Weekly Ramblings #83

Hey all!
hope you finally got weekly ramblings #81, im pretty sure THIS time it went through (3rd time's a charm, eh?). not too much happened this past week I suppose. thursday night was cool, but kinda long. we went to concordia at 500PM so that I could do my first baptismal interviews. it was the longest hour and 40 minutes ive spent on the bus making that trip, as it was the first time I didnt have to wake up at 445AM to get to concordia, and the first time I didnt come back after having to wake up at 445AM...basically I couldnt sleep and just stared out the window for almost 2 hours.
I interviewed a young couple. they were both really cool. the guy is gonna be a great leader in the church someday, he was awesome. as it was my first interview, I had the questions right there in front of me, but it was still cool. it was a great experiance to know that I got to help these two people in the process of getting baptized. the next day (friday) they got married, then on saturday and sunday they got baptized and confirmed (respectively).
we havent been able to find too horribly much this past week. one day we taught 2 full "lesson one"s to 2 different couples, which is really good for one day...but in the end, neither of them wanted to know anything more about the church, just thought itd be nice to hear what we're all about. cant complain TOO much about that I suppose...but it would have been 150% better if they would have been willing to try it out, you know, reading the book of mormon and praying.
we have one other investigator with whom we're still working. she has said that she probably wont change her religion, but did agree that if she prayed and felt that these things really were true, that she'd have to act accordingly. that's a start. we've also been praying for a miracle with the family of the girl we just baptized. they all wanna get baptized, but the dead-beat dad is still there, and as long as he is there, we cant do anything. no one really wants him there, and he is there mostly to take advantage of the government help that her woman gets. we all kinda wish he'll go back out to the campo where he belongs. that's not to say God cant soften the man's heart and have him get interested in the gospel as well, it's very possible if God were to want it...but it doesnt seem like it's going to happen anytime soon.
I did, in fact, get my other birthday package finally. if I only eat one gobstopper a day, the would last the entire rest of the mission. that's cool, eh? yeah? yeah...cant think of anything else to say about that, besides, of course, thank you muchly.
speaking of chris and tyler and all them, how are they doing? tell them that they are allowed to write me letters (because we all know how good I was at writing them...). I COULD write them still, but I dont know any of their adresses. tell them they're not allowed to get married before the beginning of december, as well.
oh, so that you guys know, this next week is transfer week, which means Pday will be on wednesday. im gettin excited for this transfer. it kind of decides my fate for the rest of the mission. if I stay here, Ill probably end here (which would not be horrible), and if I leave, well, Ill end wherever I go to. also, it is more than likely that I will finally train. that would rock.
my comp and I were talking this past week. he wanted to know what religion dad and his family are/were growing up. I said I was pretty sure he grew up methodist. we then talked about uncle doug and how he is a math teacher...we decided that doug is a mathodist...we also decided that teaching math to high-school kids would be so bad, it would be like self-inflicted pain...thus making him a mathochist(sp?). they are jokes about being a math teacher more than anything. when it's 1100 at night and you cant sleep, ya gotta be able to amuse yourselves a bit. laugh, you know you thought it was clever too. :-P
well, I think I gotta be goin. say hi to people, behave, have fun, do good things, be good and be well, also (ask grandpa jones if you need the difference). until next week!

Love,
Elder Casey Adams
