::play dramatic music here::

Im getting transferred! we usually find out tuesday night what the transfers are, but what we all found out last night is that our area was gonna be white-washed (where they take out both elders and put 2 others in). we found out this morning where my comp and I are going. Im going to a little town (pueblito, if you will) called Federal. Im probably not gonna like the smallness of it (hoping I was done with small towns), but some of the elders I looked up to most served there (including my trainer and my first zone leader), so finally I should be able to hear some good stories about them and follow in their steps, as it were.(Ive been using lots of parenthesis in this paragraph, huh)
Im really really really gonna miss this area. we were all kind of expecting that my comp would leave and Id stay here until at least july 27th, if not one more transfer after that. thats what I wanted, too. I was way psyched up for having my birthday in this area and also a ward activity that they are having this monday...and the members way rock...but alas, no we are going to be scrambling around all today to try to get pictures with everybody. then in the afternoon we have to make the pench spotless...which is what you need to do anyway when there are transfers, even more when it is a white-wash...but esPECially because elders arent replacing us, sister missionaries are. if they dont like how clean the pench is, they can call the Hermana Hutchison and then we both wiould have to travel all the way back to the area (about 8 hours for my comp, about 10 or 11 hours for me) to clean it...that would not be fun at all.
so, WE HAD A BAPTISM! last saturday we had my first baptism as senior comp, and the first baptism I have ever actually performed. the water ended up being rediculously cold, I was worried guillermina was gonna kill me for that, but all was well. we ran out of hot water half way through the filling process because we had drained the water tanks outside the church, so as it was refilling itself, the water had no time to heat up, it was going straight from outside into the tanks, and straight from the tanks to the font. the service itself, though slightly put together at the last minute, was beautiful and everyone that went enjoyed it. I ended up having to baptize guillermina twice, because she got nervouse and tried to keep her head up out of the water, but in the end all was well. she's probably not gonna be too happy that we are both leaving, but we already gave her the talk before about how it wasnt us that was important, but the spirit she felt, and how we come and we go, so, she should be fine.
Someone being "programmed for baptism" is just someone whom we've taught, with whom weve made a goal for a baptism date. I could just say "we have an investigator with a baptism date" but then there's really no verb to express the moment we put the goal...it would be something like "we baptism-dated that investigator last night" or, "we have 2 baptism-dated investigators"...so instead, since we use here "programar", or, "to program", thus: "we programmed her" or "they were programmed for the 17th" and so on...now, whether or not Im spelling "programmed" right, that's another story all together. yeah just wait til I get back, itll be fun. i remember my first call home from the field and everytime I got asked a question I said "si...I mean...yeah..."
ha, oh to be in a fully functioning ward where the mission leaders actually get information before anyone else. here, everyone finds out when WE tell them, and that's if we have time TO tell them. we're going to our mission leader's house today mainly because him and his wife are some of the coolest members here.
well, not much else to report on I suppose. I should be leavin' bright and early tomorrow morning. Im hoping to get to rosario with enough time and money to hit up mcdonalds on the way. we'll see what the future holds for Elder Adams. Chris should be gettin home this week, say hi to him if/when you guys see him. take care of yourselves!

Love,
Elder Casey Adams
