We've been here in Olympia for over a month now. I'm very happy in so many ways- the weather, the people, the plants, the beer, the coffee ( Read more... )

A friend of mine is a nurse and I'm sure she'd be happy to answer any questions you might have about the job. She's from HS but a couple years younger (I know her from swimming.) Let me know if you want me to put her in touch. She's very nice and I'm sure she'd be helpful if you want to know more before taking classes.

In regards to the mess" One way I approach the volume of "crap" is to start with things that wouldn't be costly or difficult to acquire later should I want or need them. No point in spending even a small amount of money to store things that don't cost very much. Other items may have cost a lot but will be obsolete by the time I need them. Something like a large stereo, extra computer, etc. that may not have a place now, might not even be what I want a couple years down the line when I can purchase something far better with a new warranty for not a lot of money. I also keep in mind the price things are going for on Craig's List. Something like exercise equipment may be pricey new but my stuff is all used at this point and really not any different from what I might buy from someone else. If I can sell it now and re-purchase at a similar price later, I've saved the cost of storing it.

Anything that's left is stored in labeled bins so that like items are together. It keeps things from feeling too chaotic regardless of volume. The whole process gets repeated periodically as the premium on space changes.

Thanks- these are good things to keep in mind. Especially the organized, labeled boxes of stuff you are going keep. It is pointless to have it if you don't know where the &*%$ it is!
I have an appointment with a career counselor at SPSCC this week and I will know more after that... I'm tempted to just work on a nutrition degree online until a better option appears, but classes in person work so much better for me.

There may be classes in the program that are applicable to nutritional counseling.

No matter how many times I go through stuff I always have one WTF box left that is all the little stuff that I haven't quite figured out. However, that's better than 30 of them!
