Unexpected Ally
Meme stepped behind Frank and shivered. No, it wasn’t looking good. Not at all. Even worse, she noticed that the Mystery Secret Agent tried to hide behind her as well. The lioness’ sharp claws scratched on the wooden floor.
“What now?” Frank asked taking a step back and bumping into Meme.
“How am I supposed to know?” she squeaked.
“What does he have to say?” Frank weaved his hoot toward the Mystery Secret Agent who was pressing his back to the wall, pale and looking as if he was ready to faint.
“Lions are not my favorite cats,” he whispered weakly.
The lioness was now at the bars and making her way through it.
“Frank!” Meme whispered into Frank’s ear. “Do something!” But they all knew it were their last moments on earth.
And then the big cat was in front of them and Meme looked at Frank, and he looked back at her for the last time - they both ready to die.
“Hi, guys,” the lioness said in a low and gently voice. “It’s high time you showed up. I’ve been waiting for you for the whole week. There is job waiting to finally get finished, but I have new directions for you.”
Meme blinked. Huh?
