For those of you still using multi-client IM programs like Adium, Pigdin and Trillium (!!!), here's a reminder that
LJ Talk still exists and still works, so you can get your LJ notifications through your IM client rather than through email. I get both, but the immediacy of IM can't be beat. It's nice to shove off the notification emails to a less used folder, anyway.
In a related bit of nostalgia, ICQ has launched a mobile app, which I have installed, just because. I thought it might be useful to Avoid The Russians, but no, that too, like LJ, has been bought by The Russians. Oh well. We'll Always Have Signal.
Just like the Germans have Ostalgie to refer to the good old days of the DDR/GDR, we shall now refer to this moment as nostaLJia.
