So, the trainwreck also known as Merlin has come to an end. I know... so completely stupid!! Don't they realize when they write someting completely stupid??? I guess not...
I agree 100%. This was the best part of the episode by far. The emotions between them slayed me (thanks for that gorgeous screencap, btw). Colin and Bradley really gave it their all. With hindsight it is really funny how Gwen was barely an afterthought; all the emotions were between Arthur and Merlin. Arthur doesn't even mention her before he dies.
They are perfect. I'm going to miss them.
And yes, the creator said that the show is a love story between two men (so yes, the shippers weren't being completely ridiculous.. all the homoeroticism was intentional) and if not for the fact that this was a family show we may have seen it developed properly in a romantic sense (they really tried to work around it in the finale... Poor Gwen was indeed an afterthought, but she'll find consolation in the arls of Sir Leon.;)
Man, this show was such a waste of potential. But the chemistry between Arthur and Merlin made me come back season after season. Maybe now that we know what to expect, it will be easier to go back and rewatch for the Arthur/Merlin parts. :)
Really? it will make it more difficult (almost impossible) for me to rewatch. :(
