Bye bye weekend

Jun 30, 2007 20:36

I was looking forward to this weekend. A whole weekend of nothing to do, a few new DVDs and maybe a trip to Pride to see my friend who works in Barking. No such luck.

First off, someone with very bad parking sense accidentally fails to detonate a car bomb in central London. Although it's not automatically linked to Pride it was near the route and so Davyd asks (pleads) that I don't go to Pride in case I get blown up. Fine, I'll stay at home with the DVDs and a big bag of popcorn.

So today I wake with trepidation at a relaxing day spent doing absolutely nothing. Then Davyd demands that we go to Tesco's. Bugger. Oh well a quick trip shopping and afterwards I can get down to watching those DVDs. So we go shopping, then get home to find that someone has driven a car at high speed towards Glasgow airport. Probably upset at the high parking charges. I go to put a DVD on, and get shouted at by Davyd, "DON'T CHANGE CHANNEL, THIS IS WHAT I DO FOR A LIVING!" No he's not referring to driving 4x4s at airport terminals, he's talking about how the travel industry is going to be affected by this turn of events. So we're now sat in the living room, I'm sat on the computer because I've got nothing else to do with my day off and I'm determined I'm not going to watch the news because it'll only stress me out, and Davyd is sat glued to the news in case some emergency announcement is made that all travel agents are automatically sacked or something.

Please will someone give me a life...
