(no subject)
OHHH man. So. back in school. I love seeing everyone again...it feels like i never left. i love that hahaha.
So. i've been on a diet for the last ohhh week and a half..ish? and i've lost about 6 pounds which makes me happy. And today someone at work noticed and asked me if i had lost weight. it made me feel good :). And it's weird, because i never necessarily thought i was FAT. but i'm not the skinniest person. so i think being in the middle, i dunno, i'm getting healthier and back to where i was for sophomore year in high school- before i discovered fast food and restaurants lol. and i suppose its a good thing that i'm on a diet cuz my voice teacher said that i should lose weight. or at least, not gain any. in her words "It's hard for a performer, especially a vocalist to get any gigs if she is not thin." SO. i suppose this is a good thing. lol
Other than that, I'm excited cuz Feb. 9th is the MENC (music educators national something lol) dinner dance @ the Aqua Turf. I'm going with my friend Joe C. who is awesomeee and a bunch of my other friends are going so it should be a BLAST! lol Laura and I may look somewhat the same but that is AWESOME. lol and we're taking a night off the diet to enjoy Aqua Turf food lol :)
Phi Sig recruitment started this week and bid day is next saturday. It's crazy. lol
And. on the subject of classes. i agree with Lindsie, and Aural Skills with Ribby sucks. but hey, maybe it's cuz i've already taken the class lol. i love Prof. Campbell, so theory is good. Violin with Prof. Rosa will be hilarious, mainly because he's one of the funniest old men I've ever met. and he doesn't even know it which makes him funnier. History of American life is cool. and i'm in it with my friends Andrew and Rich so it's cool cuz now i know people in my one non music class lol. i love chorale and my voice lessons obviously, and piano is piano.
But then there's this class i'm taking- Practicum in Music Ed. I actually get to go into schools and observe. i have to observe an elementary, middle school, and high school, and THEN pick a school and do 6 classes worth of field experience which basically means a mini student teaching session. i'm semi- excited for this. I mean, i want to, but i dont feel like i'm necessarily ready to go into a class and teach? i dunno. I'm pretty sure i'm going to an elementary school in new britain, middle school in rocky hill, and high school in newington. hopefully. if everything works out the way it should and the teachers at the respective schools approve it. i want to do my field experience in a high school choir. so hopefully they let me :)
ahhh. ok. so there's my little update. and i am PUMPED for the MENC dance. ok? ok. :)
