(UPDATE: Since this was posted, the items in question were satisfactorily resolved by all parties, and actions were taken to improve the flow of communication within the shire.)

The last time I checked, we were supposed to be playing nice and taking turns.
Everyone wants a crack at teaching, holding an office, autocratting/feastcratting, etc.
It's neither healthy, fair or realistic to think one might have the right to permanently corner the market on any one area.
It does not matter (1) how much you know, (2) if you feel your cause is the most worthy, (3) if you think you are a cooler person than anyone else, (4) if you have suffered / are suffering / will be suffering.
It does not matter that being the only person who is allowed to do/control this thing is a panacea to your baggage/ego, Your unique situation does not automatically entitle you to be the first or only person to fill the above mentioned roles.
I am not sure if the committees of our shire are a party to this being perpetuated, or if they are merely being used. But there are a lot of processes and decisions that are now done behind closed doors, which should at least do some sort of public reporting of their processes and decisions, and future plans (such as timely updates on the VR list or as printed meeting minutes, as a check and balance to allow the populace to be assured they are still above board and to allow everyone an equal opportunity to participate.
It also appears this lack of communication is causing some mis-communication and hurt feelings. It could potentially set the stage for additional unpleasant drama in the future. Well, we know there will always be drama, but if one can through providing timely information avoid unnecessary drama then why not do so? If all is above board, there is nothing to hide.
As I said, I'm happily making observations from the Swiss Border, I have no dog in any of the current dramas, just a lot of past experience with some of the players.
