Man this Joey Patone marionette doll sure does have a BIG head and BIG feet.
Because of the lack of time and the excess of head and feet, I ended up doing a streamline medieval rather than costume.
He is dressed like generic medieval guy...And he was not all hand sewn. A lot was done on the machine (as I was not dealing with velvet)
I wished I'd had time to give him the same sleeves as Juliet but it's already coming up on 2am and I've got to work in the morning.
Romeo's on the short side compared to Juliet. They stand Face to chest, which looks kind of funny.
So for modesty's sake we have them sitting down.
Oh, and Joey/er Romeo had those big honking boots on, so I covered the white laces and white socks with electrical tape. It also keeps his loose right foot from flopping around backwards, exorcist style...
I'm so glad this is over. I am having to fight the urge to do bead-work on Juliet's cap. Hmmmmm, maybe little seed pearls?
All right, I guess I have to admit that although I earlier said I hated making doll clothes, I think I would like it if I had more time to really have fun with it.
