A little place I found in my wanderings this past week-end...

Place de Thorigny, in the Marais

For the rather steep price (5 Eur for a "café crème", 2,50 Eur for an espresso, 3 Eur for that Meert waffle), service could have been better.

The waffle is the typical production of Maison Meert, right in front of the café. Maison Meert is in fact a legend in Lille for these waffles (filled with a mixture of butter, sugar and flavor), and this is their Parisian boutique.

A bit pricy, but very tasty! (watch out for your diet though!)

The little place that gives the café its name

Just around the corner are two other café / tea salon, including this minuscule one, and the brasserie Sévigné, where you can also eat. I was tempted to try their giant meringue lemon cake, but I chose the waffle. In hindsight, I'll have to go back!

Nearby is the Square payenne, quite lovely even in that rainy day...
