Tattoos and Love

I sort of just wanted to share something, for sharing sake and because it makes me happy. I was reading the new entry on ihearttattoos, about the girl with the pretty, new dragonfly tattoo and how she was asking how to talk to her conservative friends and family about her new body art. It made me think back to my parents first reactions to my back piece. My dad initially said "ok, no more" and my mom said "it's bigger than I thought it would be". Ok, I guess I expected that, I thought. And at this point, my dad still has the same feelings, but I can tell he's growing used to my flower poking out all the time or the occasional hummingbird showing its face. And my mom, haha, she wants to get a tattoo when I go and get my tree in September.
But my favorite thing about my tattoo is my grandmother's love for it. I've received a lot of compliments but my favorites have been from my grandmother. She was just so amazed and loved it. It makes me so happy to have such a wonderful, beautiful, and kind grandmother. One who won't judge me, no matter what, and will say those extra things that make me feel as though I'm doing something right (even though my slightly conservative parents think my plans of more body ink are pretty..odd and discouraging). That's the main reason why I want a whole calf dedicated to this lady. I want a constant reminder of the strength, happiness, love, and joy that already flows through my veins simply because she is my grandmother. It'll probably be my favorite piece and I can't wait to get it.
