Dear Yule Goat,
Hi! Thank you so much for offering to write whichever of these fandoms you matched with me on. Just knowing there's someone else out there who likes them makes me happy, and I can't wait to see what you come up with.
Some general likes: Backstory, hurt-comfort, found family, people being competent at the things they're good at, casefic where applicable.
Some general dislikes: porn, stories in which people are embarrassed, AUs (by which I mean stuff like coffee shops, high schools, etc.; "things that are possible in canon but that canon hasn't done yet" are good stuff!)
Agent X is the only fandom where I'd really like both the requested characters. For the other two, please feel free to mix and match :)
I'll try to provide some prompts for each fandom, but please don't feel you have to stick to them! They're there in case you are a person who prefers prompts. Alphabetically:
Agent X
Characters: Natalie Maccabee, John Case
Wow, did this show ever end too soon. I love these two characters.
I love Natalie's sheer competence; she accepts when she doesn't know something, and then does her best to learn, all while commanding the respect she's earned. I also love that she's not willing to view John as disposable, even though being disposable is pretty much his job description.
I love how John cares about the people he's responsible for protecting. I love that he obviously still loves Pamela. I love how he knows he's disposable, but doesn't really want to be.
Some prompts: AND THEN WHAT HAPPENED? I'd love to see what happened after the finale. Or beforehand; how did Eckhart treat John? What does John do when he's not Agent-X-ing? How does Natalie deal with the evidence that people will die for her, just because she says so? If John stops being Agent X, do he and Natalie stay in touch at all? Is that even possible? There was so much this show could have explored if it had had time.
Killjoys
Characters: Alvis, Johnny, Dutch, Pree
Oh MAN I just love these people. (This is a common theme for me.) I love that they live somewhere that really, really sucks as a place to live, where environmentally they should all be assholes who only look out for themselves and ally out of necessity, but instead they care about each other. Not to the exclusion of all else, though; you've got Alvis who's willing to die for a cause, and puts the cause above everything else, and you've got Pree who is a sheer badass (WARLORD PREE oh my gosh). Johnny is an expert at giving a damn, but I feel like he's doing better in the boundaries department; except then there was Pawter. Sniff. Dutch is so smart and such a badass and needs so much to know who she really is, even though she's built her own personhood against all the odds.
I'm happy with anything but porn, really; backstory is good, worldbuilding is good. Alvis is a bit of an outsider; he's part of an order and is the only one of them who isn't motivated in some way by profit. How does that affect things? How did the four of them work together before D'avin came along? How did they start working together? What'll they do now that Pawter's dead?
Thunderbirds Are Go (TV 2015):
EOS (Thunderbirds Are Go (TV 2015))
Gordon Tracy (Thunderbirds Are Go (TV 2015))
Grandma Tracy (Thunderbirds Are Go (TV 2015))
John Tracy (Thunderbirds Are Go (TV 2015))
What do I love about Thunderbirds Are Go? I love the way it's an adventure series without, so far, violence. I love the way Grandma has been updated; I find her mistrust of technology a bit baffling given that she was probably born in the same year I was (Grandma Tracy, borderline millenial/GenY!) and is clearly capable of using it, as we see in "EOS" when she steps in to run the dispatch board. That aside, I love that she's an energetic, active woman who takes no shit and clearly dotes on her family. I love that John Tracy gets to actually be a space monitor rather than an afterthought. I love his brains and his ability to focus under pressure. I love Gordon's heart and how he's so gentle with his rescue-ees. He might be stressed out and worried, but he's not about to admit it to people who are already scared enough. As for Eos, wow, what a character. The possible repercussions are vast.
Possible prompts: Grandma and Eos worrying about their boys; John's Eos's only real friend, after all, I bet she's very protective. A group rescue effort. Gordon trapped somewhere. Grandma IN SPAAAAACE.
So there you have it! Prompts are, again, optional; I'm happy with whatever story you want to tell. Thank you so much!
