Going to CHICAGO

I happen to have a ticket to see Hamilton in Chicago on January 8th. It is mine, all mine, and I treasure it deeply.

It would be silly to go all the way to Chicago just for that, though! So here's the plan so far (courtesy of a Go Chicago Pass, which lets me do as many of the 26 included attractions as I can in 5 days. I CAN DO A LOT OF THINGS.)

I'm arriving in Chicago on New Year's Eve. I bet there'll be a party on the go at the hostel.

This particular itinerary will depend heavily on what's open on New Year's Day in terms of start date. If things are closed, I'll operate on a "bundle up warmly and wander about" strategy.

Day 1: Hop On Hop off bus tour, early lunch, Chicago Theater Tour (noon-1PM) . Spend PM at Shedd Aquarium.

Day 2: Art Institute of Chicago (with lunch when hungry and/or footsore), some time at Field Museum if time (they're close to each other)

Day 3: Skydeck or 360 Chicago, early lunch, Museum of Science and Industry.

Day 4: Grand Tour (four-hour guided tour of Chicago; probably similar to the hop-on, hop-off one but with less hopping and a different route), lunch, Museum of Contemporary Art. Skydeck or 360 Chicago.

Day 5: Frank Lloyd Wright Home and Studio Tour, Chicago History Museum

Other things to do: Ghost tour. At least one play other than Hamilton. Meet friend who lives in Chicago. Blues music. Pizza.

I'm looking forward to it.

Things I would have liked to do but can't because it'll be January: the Untouchables tour, the architecture river cruise.

I'm going to be the most touristy tourist to ever be touristy, and I do not care.
