Hi!
My apologies, I'd planned to update this before today, and here assignments have gone out already. I beg your forbearance!
FIRST AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, thank you in advance. You like something I like, and that's great. I can't wait to see what you come up with.
Some general likes: Backstory, hurt-comfort, found family, people being competent at the things they're good at, casefic where applicable.
Some general dislikes: porn, stories in which people are embarrassed, AUs (by which I mean stuff like coffee shops, high schools, etc.; "things that are possible in canon but that canon hasn't done yet" are good stuff!)
I'm also happy with any and all combinations of characters. If you want to write fic about Gordon Tracy and can't work out how to shoe-horn EOS into there, for instance, that's fine. I like all the characters I requested very much, and will be glad to see them.
Some prompts, which are entirely optional (in past exchanges, writers have come up with stories I'd never even dreamed of, and they've been amazing, so hey, do your thing! These are for people who like prompts to work from.)
Thunderbirds:
EOS (Thunderbirds)
Gordon Tracy (Thunderbirds)
Grandma Tracy (Thunderbirds)
John Tracy (Thunderbirds)
I'm most fannish about Thunderbirds Are Go! at the moment, but I loved the original series as well, and there's never enough fic for either (if you do original series, though, please let John be useful ;-) I always felt sorry for the poor guy). What do I love about Thunderbirds Are Go? I love the way it's an adventure series without, so far, violence. I love the way Grandma has been updated; I find her mistrust of technology a bit baffling given that she was probably born in the same year I was (Grandma Tracy, borderline millenial/GenY!) and is clearly capable of using it, as we see in "EOS" when she steps in to run the dispatch board. That aside, I love that she's an energetic, active woman who takes no shit and clearly dotes on her family. I love that John Tracy gets to actually be a space monitor rather than an afterthought. I love his brains and his ability to focus under pressure. I love Gordon's heart and how he's so gentle with his rescue-ees. He might be stressed out and worried, but he's not about to admit it to people who are already scared enough. As for Eos, wow, what a character. The possible repercussions are vast.
Possible prompts: Grandma and Eos worrying about their boys; John's Eos's only real friend, after all, I bet she's very protective. A group rescue effort. Gordon trapped somewhere. Grandma IN SPAAAAACE. For Original Series, honestly, it's been so long since I've watched it that I can't think of anything specific, but I always loved the heart-pounding adventure and the beautiful futuristic buildings (which were very flammable).
Star Wars: Rebels:
Kanan Jarrus
Hera Syndulla
How much do I adore this show? ALL OF THE ADORING, that's how much. I wasn't expecting to, and then here came this show about this glorious family of misfits who are all terribly brave while still being terribly vulnerable (oh my goodness, that season two finale!). I love that Hera is secure in her knowledge of her abilities; she's very good at what she does, and she knows it. I love that Kanan's insecure about his; he is very good at what he does, but he knows how much better he could be, and he knows he's utterly unprepared to be a teacher but is determined to do his best anyway. I love that they love each other.
Possible prompts: Backstory! Future story! What are they up to during The Force Awakens, when they're old? There are a bunch of fics immediately post-season 2, with all the ramifications of it; I'd love to see what you think will happen a little further down the line, once they've adjusted (DO they adjust?).
Leverage
Eliot Spencer
Alec Hardison
Alec Hardison's Grandmother
Parker
Confession: I am not a shipper. This show is one of my exceptions. OT3, man; though I am equally in love with Hardison/Parker with Eliot as their best friend (not that he'd ever admit it). And Hardison's Nana just sounds like she'd be a badass.
I just like awesome grandmas, okay. Maybe because mine is amazing.
Possible prompts: Eliot, Parker, and Hardison need a safehouse for a few days, and nobody has one in town, so they go visit Nana. Maybe Eliot's hurt (after The Rundown Job?) and needs some looking-after. Maybe they're just tired and need a Nana for a bit. Maybe she comes to visit them in Portland. Maybe one of her friends got targetted by one of those awful people who call you up and claim something is wrong with your computer and if you just hand over access, they'll fix it.
I know the blurbs for the second two fandoms are shorter! That does not mean I love them any less. I can't wait to read what you write. Thank you in advance.
