i am only partially ashamed of my new celebrity addiction. it never really happened till this year when i started spending so much time on the computer... i can't help but click on all the smutty headlines! they are just too fun. i apologize in advance, this is to be a very teenage girl entry wherein i will most likely overuse the word "like." but c'mon people, i'm nearly 20 and this is my last chance.
I WANT TO TALK ABOUT BRITNEY SPEARS. when britney shaved her head a few days back, i was impressed. this isn't a very girly move. to me, that could've symbolized a sort of change. hair symbolizes beauty in its most unnecessary and frail form - long hair serves no purpose and only gets in the way, right? you only have it to be pretty. so shaving it off was kind of like her saying i don't give a fuck about his meaningless bullshit anymore, like maybe sinead o'connor style? usually a move like this is followed by a pursuit of something with meaning and value. it was especially cool that she shaved her head herself because the stylists refused to:
and personally, i think she looks kinda good. maybe she could've like gone to asia and studied buddhism or taoism or whatever is trendy in the spiritual realm, or gone to africa to fight the good fight, and come back playing the sitar and singing folk songs. you know what? i would've bought the album and it woulda been the first britney album i ever bought. and you would too, admit it. but nooo. then this:
what? a wig!? hellll no sister! i understand feeling remorse after doing something like that, but you can't go back. you made a big statement and you got to stick with it. UGH LAME! who shaves their head to wear a wig?
okay people, go out there and seek a good artist and support them. or better yet, become one and support yourself. and hey, let's try to give some love to the visual artists who create with their hands? no one seems to care about them these days.
