Start the day off by waking up on the couch, a bit groggy, but before you can get a "shut the hell up, you're making too much noise" out to the smalls, your lovely wife suggests that the couch can't possibly be comfortable, and you should go to the bed. Well, yes, thank you, I shall!
Discover that the sheets that the MIL gave you for Christmas are, in fact, every bit as comfy and wonderful as advertised (bamboo, 250 thread count).
Wake up feeling completely refreshed and absolutely loving those new sheets. What to do now, as I've got an hour and a half before work? Well, there's a bit of grocery shopping for dinner to be handled, why not spend it with the wife?
At work, where things are still a bit hectic (installing new technology, updating the old, and learning new software... holy crap this could get ugly quick), go to the boss with concerns about the hours you work, only to have him impart four absolutely wonderful words to you, emphasizing the first two: You have a job.
Things die down now, as it's almost four (and the day guy is finally leaving). Hey, would you like a quick lesson on the new software and be the first in your department to use the new machine (and thereby further cement your job security)? Why, yes, I certainly would. Was I like a kid in a candy store? Hell yes I was.
Ahhhh... and how should I finish out the workday whilst I wait for the press to finish off the Post (because it would take too long to explain to the next shift how to make a new plate, it's just easier for me to stay), well, how about starting another story? Well, okay, but I've tried this several times recently, and just stared at a blank document. But, not to worry tonight, I got 450 words slammed out in nothing flat.
Arrive home a bit before midnight, and say good night to that very same lady that started your day off so well, who wakes up to ask about your day (much of the above repeated), and suggests that you cap it off in the best way possible! Well, who am I to turn down further good fortune?
Every Monday should be this good.
