Houston has too many accidents.

1. My sister was in a horrible car wreck.
a. She was driving her car with her friend in the passengers seat, neither on alcohol / drugs of any sort.
b. She goes up to a red light.
c. When it turns green, she heads out. A cop car approaches at a speed ranging from (she thinks 50, onlookers say 80), running the red light and at the last second turning its lights and sirens on.
d. SLAM!
e. She wakes up an hour later drifting in and out of unconscious, managing her way out of the wrecked vehicle.
f. She sees her friend made it out of the car, which is surprising since my sister's car was T-boned on the passenger's side. My sister on the EMS vehicle fumbles to remember any of the phone numbers at her current state, confused by all the strange medical personal. She can't remember her home number, her number or her dad's number, only her mother's friend for some reason. She awakes again at Ben Taub hospital a few minutes later with her dad sitting next to her, in line to be examined. There are all sorts of people at this time of night, people who are covering their wound from gunshots, etc.
g. She has no broken bones, and neither does her friend, but she can barely move around the house due to the collision. I have to help her in and out of her bed, bath, and eating.

2. I was locked out of the house today.
a. My sister needed help for dinner, but she decided she was going to pay for Vietnamese take out and Tapioca slushees for taking care of her the past few days.
b. I pick up the money from her, and head over to Scarsdale and Beamer. I take the backroad behind the grocery stores to get to the vietnamese restaurant because there is...
c. Another huge car accident. This one (?) has four cars, one is on fire, another is being questioned by police, the other two are stuck in the intersection. People are crowded around the scene, and there are fire engines and police blockades.
d. When I got Audrey the food, I headed home and noticed I took the wrong keys (without the key to the house), didn't have my cell phone, and Seth had left and locked the house until 10 pm.
e. After trying all the windows and doors (and upstairs windows), I headed over to Kristen's house and called my dad and Seth, who bitched at me for no reason. They never even tried to act like they were sympathetic. Anyways, I called my mom and she said to remove the extra glass window from her window and get in through there.
f. Kristen comes over with me and as we're "wiggling the window out", the glass shatters all over the patio and garden, my legs. We both get gloves on and pick up all the big pieces of glass, then I push the inner window up and it works! I get in and Kristen and I hang out inside for a minute before she leaves.
g. Kristen truly is one of those rare "everlasting friends". :)
