And it wasn't Taylor Hicks winning.
Let me walk you guys through it.
So they were giving out awards for the best moments on this season's American Idol, ok. Then they got to the "Best Impersonator" category, where they came across... haha... Michael Sandecki, who claimed to be "The Next Clay Aiken." After showing his clip, it turns out he wins, and Michael walks onstage to accept the award. Seems fine. But then things go apeshit after that. Ryan Seacrest (knowing what's happening) creeps off stage as much as possible and asks Michael if he would please sing everyone a song.
And OF COURSE Michael Sandecki sings an Elton John song. He's singing it, it's awful performance, I'm loving it television, I'm happy. So halfway through the performance the wall behind Michael splits open and everyone in the crowd goes nutso in applause! Michael thinks it's for him and keeps singing all giddy and shit but it turns out to be Clay Aiken, Michael's own Idol. And you know Michael loves him. Anyways, Clay finally comes into view of Michael and he goes -insane- nearly dropping his microphone to keep up "Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me" with Clay.
At this point, Clay starts to sing just a litttttle like Cher. Michael stands next to Clay and is loving the attention, then Seacrest comes back on stage and YANKS Michael away from singing to be on a stool to sit on. Then Clay finishes the song singing to Michael this Elton John song, and Michael almost gets TEARS in his eyes he's so happy. At the end they shake hands but you know Michael's going to need a change of underwear tonight.
And I'm looking for that Youtube as fast as I can.
