Everything from the previous albums is History. Oh how do I describe it... there's a new sound in the thirteen tracks aside from Hate Me. But it still has the intimacy of any other blue october album. Geeze, I remember when Foiled was supposed to be released during October of 2005, and had actual Foil as the cover art. During that time a lot of the songs have been remixed, and the studio recordings often have a different style I guess than the Live versions that they've been playing the past year or so (esp. The Sound of Pulling Down and 18th Floor Balcony [both songs now have a more present beat, for one]). There aren't any weird tracks that leave you wondering what they're even talking about (Clumsy Card House [H4$], Retarded Disfigured Clown [C2Treatment]) - Foiled is a much more coherant and narrative effort, and I'm happy they took that route. Though I liked CCH and RDC, it took me a while. This is a WAY more accessible release.
It might be me hanging on a little to the 'old blue october', but my favorite track right now would have to be "Let it Go". Oh, and Overweight took me completely by surprise.
Oh, and my love for Imogen Heap increased IMMENSELY with Foiled, and to some extent Kirk from Greatness in Tragedy. Here's to a terrific 2006 for my Blizzoc. They have most definitely earned it.
And like H4$, there's a ghost track. And the final words are "Living Just to Watch it All Go By" (the previous title of the album)
