Pawn Shopping...
Oh my... It's that time of year again. I've got some cash left over from Christmas Shopping, and the likes. So what do I do with it? I take it to the pawn shop of course. Where else could one person walk in, look at a TV, play a couple of guitars, possibly buy used TORQUE WRENCHES!!! Where at? Of Course the Pawnshop! Yeah, some of it's hot, and yeah, some of it is from people who are wanting some drugs.. but lord! Where can you find greatness such as that!
I stepped in, and the place was full of goodies. Bass Amps, Guitar Amps, car Stereos, TV's, the BOX OF OLD REMOTES, games, jewelry, guns, knives, and various other things. I look around, and I am astounded at the amount of stuff they have left. So, I begin to peruse the store. See a bunch of things, most are forgettable, but my god, what do I find?
I find a awesome steal of a deal. A Guitar effect pedal that sells for 140 Dollars BRAND NEW, and they had it for 30, and you could try it before you buy it... I asked the guy if I could try it out with a Bass. And he was cool with that, and we break out a bass, and a battery for the pedal, and 2 cords, and we walk over to the biggest amp they have. we turn it on, and plug everything in.. and the pedal does NOTHING. He said.. "Well man, you have any idea whats the matter with it?"
Well, I have 3 ideas. I only mention two. "Well, it could be totally fried or there is a Wire in it shorted out..." or the battery coulda been dead. He thinks for a second and goes "Well, I can't sell it at 30 and it being broken. I'll give it to you for 5 bucks, tax included." and it took everying I had to keep my jaw from Dropping. a Pedal that is probably perfect, just a few blemishes, for 5 bucks. I pulled a 5 out and told the guy i'd try to resolder the wires in it.. and well, I got it home, and sure enough... The battery in it was dead, BUT, a wire was also loose. So I fixed it, and bam. It worked with my bass, and sounds pretty good in my opinion.
but aside from the pawnshop, I shopped for everyony and I got all the presents I needed. Fishtank for my grandma, helped buy a dishwasher for my mom, and some other stuff for my friends. Yep. I've did good. and I'm finally finished!
