Took the boys out for Halloween this evening, OMG they were so much fun. We live on a really quiet street, last house on a dead end, not many kids around. The property is awesome for our lifestyle and the boys have tons of room to play and ride around on their jeep and truck, but the downside is that there aren’t many people around. So, on a night like Halloween, it’s kinda boring.
Owen’s little buddy, Angus, lives a few blocks away and their area is like a completely different world. There are tons of kids around and there are so many people out on Halloween that it’s like one big street party. So we decided to go over there and make the rounds with them… OMG what a blast! My guys are 4 and 5 so this year is really the first year where it’s been worth the effort, cuz now they are REALLY into it.
Owen and Angus wore the same costume so they were both knights in shinning armour… total conincidence BTW, didn’t know ahead of time but they thought it was just great so it worked out.
My youngest guy was dressed as lighting McQueen. He had a blast. He also keep blowing out everyone’s candles in their pumpkins… it was frakking hilarious. I didn’t notice till about half way through. I caught him doing it and I was like… “OMG! Drew! Did you just blow the candle inside the pumpkin out?’
Then Angus’ mom tells me that she saw him do it at like the second house we were at. She was laughing her ass off so much she didn’t bother to tell me.
Anyway, they were so tuckered out by the time we got home that they were asleep within 10 minutes of getting into the house. I told them they could have a small treat and then they had to settle down for ‘quiet time’… but they never made it to the treat.
They put their PJs on and brushed their teeth (don’t know why I bothered making them do that since I agreed to let them have a treat but… habits I guess). They settled into our bed to watch a TV show before bedtime and before I could even bring them a treat they’d both passed out.
God I love my life!
my little dudes,
