ellie987 asked for a sequel to my last Carson/Hughes fic, but since that turned out to be as AU as I thought it would, this isn't strictly a sequel. It's set just after Lady Mary has left Carson's room and Mrs. Hughes has stayed.

My first draft was very angst-ridden, but then I spent hours cooking and listening to the pilot for the BBC radio programme

Aww, I liked this. Too bad I don't have time for a new show at the moment. I'll have to check out the BBC radio show though -- I'm always looking for something to listen to while I clean and do busywork. :)

It's a UK show -- that means it's only like 7 episodes a series. At this point it would take you less than 9 hours to catch up.

The radio show went on for about 7 series, if I recall correctly, but it was only the pilot in which Phyllis Logan played the part, She was replaced by the time it was picked up.
