Not major spoilers by a long shot, but as this is a "missing scene," it will make more sense if you've seen episode 1 of the new series. Also prompted by something in the E2 promo, which had better have been out of chronological order.
Sort of a sequel to the drabble I wrote for the pre-airing thread on

I do love this. I'm super excited that it's going to be a 'series'. (Can I call it a series?)
You learn to be content. You learn to be glad you were that loved once in your life. Not everyone has that. You learn not to regret what might have been -- at least not too often. Now, onto those times when she does regret! And decides to do something about it!
No, it's not. Mr. Bates is no longer in the same house as you are. I can only imagine that will make a difference. Ooooh, so Elsie can cope as long as they're in the same house? Excellent!

Maybe. In some ways it's easier, still being a part of the other person's life, but in some ways it's much harder. You can't dream that if they were near things would be different, you can't pretend their dead and buried and that's why they're no longer showing you any love. I'd imagine it's a lot harder to bury regrets when you're confronted by the source of those regrets every day.

It reminds me of one year my brother and sister in law were up from Nova Scotia for Christmas. We were sitting around talking and BSG came up in conversation. I had no idea that they even watched it so that was kinda fun. Then I mentioned season 4 and they were like...
"WHAT???? Season 4 hasn't even run yet!"
and I was like.... "UMMMMMM I got the whole thing downloaded to the PC dudes!"
They spent the rest of the Christmas holiday watching BSG every chance they got! It was hilarious.
