The commander is at home in his own skin. That's a great way to describe Bill. He soooo is. I think that's one of the reasons I find him so attractive.
And Laura not caring about what she's wearing or how she looks. This is so in character for me. Even though everyone goes on and on about how beautiful Laura is, I don't think she ever deliberately sets out to use her looks and seems blissfully unaware most of the time that she is pretty. This is one of the reasons why UB is so fantastic. She's flaunting and flirting with the red dress.
I'm glad he eventually teaches her to relax and let him touch her. That hand in the back gets me every time.
This is the best thing I've read in an eon... just first rate.
The ending ("She hates her body for its betray, for repaying neglect with an eviction notice. The commander is at home in his own skin. She's forgotten where home is.") just sliced me in two.
Would you please make sure you post this at the Surivival Instinct archive so I can save it with my favorites?

It's the only excuse for the clothing she brought with her to Galactica.
But--I didn't make you cry? [sniff, sniff]
