Christmas Preparations
We're not decorating this year (not even a tree); it's just too much hassle. We thought it would just be the 3 of us (me, Mom and the dog) but my brother called late last week to let us know that he, his wife and mother in-law would be here for dinner. We didn't invite them this year but my brother assumes he has an open invitation. "We always come on Christmas," he said. I wanted Mom to tell him 'no' but that wasn't happening. Oh well, at least it's Mom's turn to cook the dinner (I did it last year).
Finally have the ingredients to make the cookies and pies and can't wait to get started, although Mom is the pie baker in the house. I can make cookies, cakes, candy and other sweet treats but the ability to make pie is beyond my grasp. Thankfully, she does it so well.
