Flash Forward...I knew that Simco had something to do with the blackout. (I'd written it in an earlier post.) Hate the guy but the show still rocks. His 'partner' that called him on the phone is the guy that drowns Nicole, the babysitter and I think he may be D. Gibbons but I could be way wrong on that one.
Stargate Universe is still not interesting enough to have me enthralled but that may change when next week's episode shows. The preview implied that the too large cast of extras is about to be thinned down until there are only the twelve (still too many) of the main cast. They really need to do away with the 'communication' stones. Even though it would mean we lose Lou Diamond Phillips, it would be worth it. Being completely cut off from Earth would make things a little better, especially since it's been done all wrong. The 'host' body is what should be seen, not the inner personality (as I've stated before). The video diary idea is a stupid way for the producers to start developing the characters. We learned nothing and four hours of TV time has been wasted and we still know nothing about these people.
Of all the characters, Eli Wallace is the only one that's even remotely enjoyable to watch. Still hate Col. Young, Chloe Armstrong, Lt. Matthew Scott, Greer and Rush. Still think Ming Na's talents are being wasted. I've been a fan of hers since she first appeared on As the World Turns and, although I am a huge fan of the Stargate franchise, she was the only reason I tuned in.
However, Sanctuary has, once again, redeemed the night! Hands down, best show on TV! The only problem I saw with last night's episode that isn't usually present was the integration of actors and backgrounds. It usually looks more realistic. Last night, you could tell it was green screen. Thankfully, the episode was so good that it didn't detract too much from the story. I don't wanna sound cold but I'm glad Clara, the invisible girl, is gone. Never really liked her whiny character. We already know that the real Ashley is still alive so I'm not heartbroken over evil Ashley's demise, although I felt bad for Helen. I was thrilled when the 'Big Guy' came to his senses and rejoined the team. Love him and hope he gets used more as the season progresses.
Kate is still a bitch and I don't see myself ever fully accepting her as a member of the group. Beginning to dislike Will Zimmerman even more. The character should be relegated to the background a bit to make room for more Nicola Tesla and Henry Foss, quickly becoming two of my favorite characters, although I've always liked Henry. To all the 'nay sayers', I think Amanda Tapping is doing a wonderful job. She's a much better actress than she was on SG-1.
Sam became a cliche, a characiture (spell checker was no help) of herself in the last few seasons. Even though Jack is no longer around on a regular basis, the implied Sam/Jack undertones became even more annoying and inappropriate. I don't like shows that insist that two people of opposite genders can't work together without developing a romantic attraction to one another. It especially didn't work on SG-1 because, despite what the producers tried to ram down our throats, there was no real chemistry there. There was more real chemistry in the cell scene of Broca Divide between Janet/Jack than there ever was between Sam/Jack in all the years of the show. Having the series on DVD, I now only watch the episodes that don't have any Sam/Jack implications. Teryl Rothery, as Janet, had more chemistry with more characters on the show, yet the woman couldn't get a date.
