A Life Without Love
These nights of freezing rain and bitter co-co-cold makes her feel right at home. No sunlight could warm her withered body, so frail. She’s lacking a heart for no one cares to give her love. She’s torn from the past and apprehensive of her future. The perfect boy, her favorite chapter. Now she’s burning bridges and burning pages. She dreams about him night after night and still burns page by page while she cries. Page sixty four reads “I promise to be by your side forever.” She saves it to remind her how deceitful someone so idealic can become. Because of him she’s afraid and walks with an empty cavity. Tonight she’ll wonder how their everything came undone. And while optimism seems far from reach, she’ll hold on; knowing someone out in this fathomless world will die for her, love her. All she can do now is wait and fake another smile.
