Soothing the poor cat was one of the first options that came to Wesley's mind. The former watcher loved animals. They would never betray you, or demand to much of you and they'd always love you no matter what. Unless they were trained by Roger Wyndam-Pryce, then they might snap your limbs off when given the chance. Wesley had always feared his fathers dogs even though they were never allowed inside the house. They were descendants from Cerberus he suspected.

All the other animals he'd always sought solace with. He even wanted to become a veterinarian for the longest time. Until his father had overheard that dream and crushed it with such a violence force Wesley gave it up quickly and never dared to have a dream again since then. Not about his future at any rate, unless it involved becoming the best Watcher, or if that failed, get married and produce off spring. As his father so aptly put it, to which the man added that Wesley probably wouldn't know what do do with a girl anyway.

And look at him now. He most certainly did know what to do with a girl-- woman. But perhaps his father has somewhat of a point if he'd gotten caught trying 'to do' something with the woman he loved the very *first* time. Well, technically the third, but they never got past the American 'first base'. And at this rate they never would! Damnit.

Cordelia's words struck a cord as well. Would they ever be able to go away as a normal couple? Or as normal as they would manage to be, a seer and a former Watcher? If just dinner and a movie was going to be problematic then what about a weekend away? Locking oneself up in either apartment only was fun until a certain limit. A very small limit. Wesley frowned and vowed to go look for a solution the moment they had this whole Dawn things settled. Or maybe even during, now that Giles was here, the man might know *something*.

It was worth stepping past his pride. It was for Cordelia, anything was worth it then.

"Who's ballsy enough?" Enough reminiscing about things one can't change. "We all know who'd do it without batting an eye." Their number one suspect for-- oh just about anything.

And Gunn certainly had the most peculiar and amusing mood-swings when drunk. It made Wesley want to get him *really* drunk and then see what happened. So far they had the giggling, the indignant, the serious, the town crier - complete with example - and the sulking Gunn. Right now they had serious Gunn and if one didn't know the man had a little to much to drink, one wouldn't even know.

"Well, the sooner we get that done, the sooner we can get--" This whole Sunnydale crowd to go home, "-- I mean find, *find*, poor Dawn. Indeed. so maybe we should..." Wesley blinked as he heard a noise from outside the office. He opened the door to a small crack and raised an eyebrow as he saw Giles rushing past to who know where.

"... Willow if she needs any help," Wesley mumbled, closing the door with shake of his head. "And that blond young woman who's name I haven't caught. She's a witch," Wesley nodded as if this was grande news, "I could sense magic."

"You guys know," Cordelia said, stating the fact the two guys were already thinking, "It's probably Wolfram and Hart." She flipped her long hair over her shoulders, "I don't even know why they're bothering to do a locator spell. They could have just asked. And from what Buffy said earlier, it sounded like she described Lindsey."

She smirked slightly at Gunn's comment about Buffy and Angel, "I don't think they'll be done for a while. And they know better than to do that. They're probably crying, fighting, having a dramatic talk about their feelings, making out and then freaking out about making out, or coming up with a plan. Actually, probably all of the above," she said, nodding to herself. "Just be glad you didn't have to witness the three-year Buffy and Angel soap opera," she rolled her eyes. "Seems like it's back in syndication now though."

She shrugged her shoulders at Wesley's suggestion, "If you really want to help them out, we can." She then smiled knowingly in his direction, "Or we could just stay holed up in here and find other ways to occupy our time until they leave, like you wanted to earlier. Without Gunn, obviously." She knew that would flush Wesley all over again, but she couldn't help it. She liked making the poor guy squirm. She had to use her womanly wiles for something, right? And chances were, Gunn was so drunk he'd forget about the entire thing in the morning.

She sighed, admitted defeat, "All right, let's go be useful people and help them out. Because if it is Wolfram and Hart, there's no way we can just run in. Not when our fearless and lovesick leader will set off all those annoying vampire alarms."

"Well duh," Gunn said to Cordy stating the obvious that it was Wolfram & Hart who did this. "Who else would run off with the Slayer's kid sister in the middle of daylight in what sounded like a magic shop. And of course it would be Lindsey. I don't think that they'd trust it to anyone else at this rate." No, they probably would use their pet lawyer to run in and grab a defenseless kid and do this sort of stuff.

"And I"m so not thrilled about having to watch the Buffy and Angel show in syndication," he told them. "Can we go up there and make sure that they are actually planning and not moping around about how they can't be with each other. That sounds boring and doesn't actually accomplish anything." It actually gave him hives thinking that they were doing that. So he couldn't date the Slayer, big deal. Shouldn't he, like, find someone else by now? Maybe someone not destined to kill his kind, maybe?

All these people either dating each other or moaning about not being able to date each other. Made Gunn want to go out to a bar and find himself a date. Well, maybe a house party, where he might actually know people. Even Wes was finally getting some action. That was a sure sign that Gunn needed to find a girlfriend as well.

"Let me go find people and be useful," Gunn said to them. "You guys...continue what you were doing before I stumbled in here. Someone around here needs to be happy and normal and be a good example of a healthy relationship." Even though it was so obviously new, really, two normal people expressing feelings they could act on? About as normal as you could get in Gunn's world now.

With that final thought, Gunn turned, opened the door, and walked out. He made it as far as the cushion couch thing before flopping face first on it. Going up the stairs to bug Angel was just too far away, and the cushion couch thing was calling to him with its comfy-ness.
