~January
WARNING: Lots os father-son abuse, please me cautious when reading, remember this is a work of pure fiction...

Ni~ya gently shut the door behind himself as he walked in. He could feel the tension in the house and knew it grew as his footsteps sounded. He just needed to make it to Chiyo, that’s all he needed to do. “Yuji.” His named echoed through the almost silent house. His father’s voice rattled in his bones, his small glimmer of hope just faded and the last thing he wanted to remember was how Sakito felt against him.

His feet slowly carried him to the source of the voice. He was glad the alcohol was still in his system, at least the blows wouldn’t hurt that much. “How was last night?” his father asked, not getting up from his seat in the den. “It was nice. Did you have a nice time?” Ni~ya said not looking at his father. He could hear his brother chuckle somewhere in the room.

“I did. And it seems that your ‘nice’ night was rather grand. You and that boy.” Ni~ya paled, he knew it was coming but the way his father said it. The hate and the malice, the way they blended seemed unreal. “I didn’t know I was raising a fag. I had no clue he was kissing boys. I thought my son was a man of some kind. Not a queer.” The acid in his voice was enough to kill anyone. Ni~ya flinched at the word, the hate chilling him. Ni~ya readied himself for the first blow, knowing that he was going to hit the ground with some force.

And that blow came, with a sickening crunch it came. Ni~ya fell to the floor, he could feel white hot pain near his eye, and he knew his father had broken something in that blow. “How long have you and that boy been fucking each other? Huh?” His father’s foot was swift as ever, Ni~ya groaned as his foot met his ribs. “What? You can tell your old man?” Ni~ya closed his eyes and prayed to die. His breather was ragged and the pain was strong.

His father’s breath was hot on his skin as he crouched down, picking his son up by the collar, “I never raised you to be like this son. You were supposed to be a man.” Another blow came and Ni~ya felt a tooth rattle in his mouth, a copper taste filling his mouth. “Dad!” Came a scream. Chiyo had walked in, her eyes wide in fear; her brother looked at her with hate.

Takeshi looked at his daughter, “Leave.” He said tossing Ni~ya to the floor. “What did he do that he deserved this!?” She screamed. “Why don’t you tell me? I hear you put all this together.” Chiyo glanced at her brother, he knew more than what he put on. Ni~ya tried to pick himself off the floor to help his sister, but his father’s foot was quicker and landed another blow to his ribs, sending him back to the floor. “Please, daddy stop it, you’ll kill him.” Chiyo said with tears in her eyes. Takeshi paused and looked at her, “I think it’s better to have a dead son, then a queer, don’t’ you think Hideaki?”

Hideaki nodded, Takeshi then smirked, rolling the broken Yuji onto his back. With all his years of training, he knew how to kill a man, quickly and efficiently. Takeshi looked at his son, he was already weak and it would be simple… Chiyo, knowing what her father was going to do next, threw herself over Ni~ya. “If you kill him, you’ll have to kill me too!” Takeshi was taken back, he didn’t know his daughter and son we so close.

Chiyo eyed her father and brother, slowly pulling on Ni~ya. She had to get him out of here and quickly. “Yu… Please get up.” She whispered, tugging at him. She felt him stir but there was no force behind his efforts. She was alone in saving him. Maemi walked into the den, hearing what had gone on. “Takeshi!” she screamed at the sight of her broken son. He looked at his wife, nothing but hate in his eyes. Chiyo sensed it was the perfect time to try and get her brother to safety.

Pulling on him, though his groaned in pain, she picked him up and raced for the door, her mother stopping her father and brother. Getting him outside she fumbled for her phone. Dialing she hoped to god he’d pick up. “Moshi Moshi.” He answered. “Ruka… hurry. My brother!” Without answering he ended the call. She had drug her brother down the street, hoping to get farther away.

She found a small alley and hid there with her brother. “Yu… Yu… Stay away Ruka’s coming.” She said petting his head. His left eye was swollen and his breathing was shallow. Her father had made his mark, she was just glad he was still alive. Ruka’s ringtone sounded, “Where are you?” “An alley a block north of my house. Hurry.” She whispered. Within minutes, that familiar black Escalade pulled up. Yomi and Ruka hopped out of the vehicle and carried Ni~ya inside.

“Where should we take him?” She asked. “We have to take him to the hospital. Look at him!” “No.” Ruka said. Yomi looked at him, “are you nuts? He’s almost dead!” “No, he’s right. If we take him there, my parents will be called. I... we can’t do that!” Chiyo said her brother’s head in her lap. Yomi looked from Ruka to her. ‘what do we do then?”

“You have to be fucking me! Hakuei? That crazy nut case?” Yomi said as they pulled up outside a rather fancy apartment building. “he’s the only one I know with a medical back ground.” “Ruka, just because he’s your father’s best detective and friend does not let you put Ni~ya’s life into the war vets hands!” Ruka glared at him and opened his car door. He pulled Ni~ya out and carried him bridal style, followed by Yomi and Chiyo.

Pressing the button, Yomi sighed. A rather gruff voice sounded over the intercom, ‘Who the hell is it?’ “It’s Satoru.” The buzz sounded as the door was unlocked. Heading to the elevator Chiyo asked Ruka about Hakuei. “He was a field medic and was in my father’s unit. They were good friends. My dad saved his ass a few times.” ”Oh.” Chiyo said.  Ni~ya groaned again, seeming like he was coming to. The elevator stopped on the correct floor and the three walked to the apartment.

“He has the whole floor to himself?” Yomi asked. Ruka nodded, “the government pays for it.” The door swung open, Hakuei stood there, cigarette in hand and his braided hair cascading around his thin frame. “What do we have here?” He said eyeing them. “His dad beat him up and we can’t take him to the hospital.” Hakuei nodded, ‘yeah, be a problem now wouldn’t it.” He ushered them in and told Ruka to set Ni~ya on the really oversized sofa he had.

Hakuei put his cigarette out and looked at Chiyo, “that his girl or something?” Ruka shook his head, “his sister. She drug him outta there somehow.” A smirked played on his lips, “I like a girl who can save a man.” “Hakuei,” Ruka said rather defensively. “ok ok… she’s under your protection there King.” Chiyo eyed the two, wondering where the nickname ‘King’ played in.

The older man strolled over to Ni~ya’ side and looked him over, prodding him and poking him. “His eye socket’s ben fractured and his ribs are bruised. He might miss some school and that eye will take forever to recover if his dad didn’t fuck it up.” He looked up at the three. “He can stay here until I know the eye is fine, after that he has to leave. I can’t have kids running around my apartment.” “How long will that be?” Yomi asked. “Well the swelling might take a week, if he’s a good healer.” ”Call me when he’s up.” Ruka said ushering the other two to come with him.

Hakuei nodded, “Planned on it.” With a quick wink at Chiyo, the three left his apartment. “What is the King thing about?” Chiyo asked. Yomi laughed, “Ruka here is the most powerful man in Sendai. His father is police chief and his mom is on some government board.” “Oh,” fell from the girl’s mouth as the elevator took them downstairs. “Chiyo, are you going to go back home?” Ruka asked. Chiyo shook her head, “No, not right now. I can’t afford it.”

“Where are you going then?” Yomi knew where this was going and stomped off to the SUV. Chiyo watched Yomi storm off, “I hadn’t really thought about it quite yet.” “Stay with me and Yomi then. Just for a few days. I can buy you whatever you need.” Chiyo looked at him, “Thank you. I don’t know what I’d do if I didn’t have you.” Ruka nodded, “yeah…”

“Where is he? What happened to him!?” Sakito seemed to almost scream at them. ‘We have someone with him right now. And we can’t have you bothering him while he’s trying to recover.” Ruka said crossing his arms. Sakito glared at him, hate just oozing off his thin frame. Chiyo was curled up in the chair; she didn’t even want Sakito to look at her for fear of bursting into tears again. Hitsugi patted her back and tried once again to calm the room down.

“They did what they thought was best for everyone Sakito.” Sakito turned to him, “I don’t want to hear it. I just want to know where he is!” Sighing Ruka gave in, “his with a co-worker of my dad’s. He’s a field medic.” Sakito sighed in relief, and sank down next to Chiyo. When Sakito had been called over, Chiyo had burst into tears at the sight of him, causing Sakito to tear up. Sakito wrapped an arm around Chiyo, “We did what we could.” Chiyo nodded and smiled a bit, “At least he’s safe.”

Ni~ya groaned as he shifted around. His face was sore and aching and his ribs still felt like they were on fire. He could hear voices talking somewhere but everything was still fuzzy. Sitting up the best he could, he focused on those voices. “I am not eating that! Its fucking burnt!” “Oh shut up, you always eat this!” Ni~ya’s heart raced, he didn’t know those voices. Panic raced threw him and he now looked around the room he was in. He had never been here and the view from the window told him he was in some sort of building, high up.

“Hey, Hakuei, I think he’s up.” A rather thin looking man said walking in. His long dark brown hair fell around his shoulders and a smile played on his lips. “Already? I thought he’d be out another day or so. I should call Ruka then.” Ni~ya perked up as Ruka’s name was said. ‘Where... am I?” He said in a hoarse voice. “Oh, this is Hakuei’s place. I’m Chisato.” Ni~ya nodded, “he said something about Ruka… how does he know Ruka?”

Chisato walked over and sat down on the bed, “Hakuei is a detective for Ruka’s father. Ruka and Hakuei are very close, brotherly almost.” Ni~ya nodded and slowly touched his swollen side of his face. It stung horribly but at least he could see a bit from his eye. “Why am I here then?” the older man smiled, “Hakuei is a doctor of sorts.” As if on cue, Hakuei walked in, sporting a rather bloody apron and a meat cleaver.

Ni~ya jumped out of bed in fear and searched for a place to hid, “He’s gonna kill me!” Chisato began to laugh hysterically and Hakuei frowned, “See! I can’t have kids running around my apartment!” Ni~ya hid behind a table and thought,  I died and now I’m in hell, oh God I swear if I come back I’ll stop looking at porn. “You can come out…” Hakuei said rather angry. Ni~ya poked his head out from behind the table, “Where’s Ruka?”

Swinging the cleaver at him, “He’s on his way ok. Just get back into bed; you’re doing your ribs no good by running around MY apartment. Oh that’s that last time I let the King bring his friends over!” Chisato took the cleaver from the older taller man’s hands. “How about I have this and you got get cleaned up. You know Ruka doesn’t like seeing you like this.” Hakuei nodded and rushed off. Chisato set the knife on the table, “Your fine. Hakuei’s just rather outgoing if you will.”

Ni~ya nodding slunk back to the bed. “Sorry to scare you to death, Hakuei likes to bake.” “So that wasn’t blood?” “Oh god no, it was cherry goop. He had made a pie and well he rather burnt it. He thinks cleavers here are the best thing to cut a pie with.” Sighing, the younger felt relieved that he wasn’t in some crazy man’s home. Hakuei walked back in with a leather vest on and some ripped up jeans, a cigarette dangled from his lips. “Feelin better now?” Ni~ya nodded, studying the man.

The younger nodded, “yeah for the most part. My eye hurts like hell and my ribs ache but I can live.” Hakuei took a drag of his cigarette and looked off down the hall, “He’ll be here soon.” Ni~ya nodded. A little while later, the buzzer rang and Hakuei pushed the button, Ruka was here. Walking in with a bottle of coke, Ruka seemed to smile at Ni~ya. “Glad to see you up.” Ni~ya nodded, “It’s nice to be awake.” “Hakuei, thanks for the help. If you didn’t help, I bet this guy would be dead.”

Hakuei snorted, “Whatever. I don’t need your praise or anything else for that matter.” Ruka smiled, “Yeah, whatever is right. Let’s go Ni~ya before Hakuei here tries to sell your organs.” Ni~ya jumped at what Ruka said, causing the rest of the room to burst into laughter. Ruka calming himself down, waved to have Ni~ya follow him out of the rather large apartment.

On the ride down, Ruka began to tell Ni~ya what had happened after his father had beaten him. “Your sister called me and I drove you here after Yomi, her and I decided it wouldn’t be safe to take you to the hospital. She’s been staying with me the past few days.” Ni~ya brushed his hair in front of his face as the elevator stopped and the doors opened. “She hasn’t gone home yet?” He said in worried voice.  “Do you blame her? Your dad is a violent piece of shit and she fears that because she helped you that he might do the same to her.”

Ni~ya dipped his head, “Yeah that sounds like her.” Exiting the elevator Ruka reached for his smokes. “Could I bum one?” Ni~ya asked the older. Ruka nodded and handed him a thin white cigarette. Ruka lit his first and handed the lighter over. “Why start smoking?’ He asked as they drew closer to his Mercedes.  ‘Well I can say I’m no longer allowed in my parent’s house so I’m doing what I want now.” Ruka nodded a bit and got into the car.

Sakito paced around his house, it had been what seemed like forever since he had seen Ni~ya. “Will ya stop? You’re driven me nuts!” Hitsugi said, as if it was his final straw. “Sorry.” Sakito mumbled, taking a place on the couch. Yomi played with his hair, a nervous habit Sakito discovered he had. Chiyo bit her lip, her fingers bouncing off her bare knee. Everyone seemed on edge, they just wanted to see Ni~ya. There was a knock on the door and the four rushed to it, it was odd that no one was hurt in the rush.

Sakito swung the door open, on the other side stood his father. “Dad!?” Sakito said, confused and hurt. “Who were you expecting, Santa Claus?” His father said with a small smile. Sakito stood there, as if he had no clue who to respond to his father’s being there. “Sorry I was late coming home. I thought your mother had told you I was coming today?” Sakito stood there in a state of shock, his father was now home and he was expecting his, boyfriend? Wait should he call him that, back on track here, his lover deal was coming at any time and he had no clue how to explain to him how this guy will now be living with them and well…, Sakito shook his head, no time to think!

“You look like you are going to collapse Taka, here sit down.” His father said guiding him by the arm to the nearest chair. Sakito sat down and looked at his father, “I didn’t know you were coming home.” Sakito’s father smiled a bit, “That’s ok. And might I ask, when did you get friends?” Sakito paused then looked over at Hitsugi, Yomi and Chiyo. “oh, at the start of the year.” Sakito’s father eyed Chiyo, “And a girl too?” Sakito blushed, as well as Chiyo.

“She’s just a friend dad.” “that’s what they all say.” “No, really Sakaguchi-san. They are just friends. We were waiting for her brother to show up.” Hitsugi said politely. “Oh, more friends?” As if on cue, a knock on the door sounded and the entire house seemed to rush to the door once again. On the other side stood Ruka, with an arm wrapped around Ni~ya’s shoulder to help keep him upright.

“Oh, Yue-chan!” Chiyo said rushing to her brother. “I’m fine, Chiyo.” Ni~ya said trying to hold at her at bay. Sakito paled at the sight of him. He seemed more milky then last time, the bruise on his eye and nose overwhelming his face. He could see that he was laboring his breathing, causing Sakito to have a lump in his throat. “You look like you were in a fight… are you ok?” Mr. Sakaguchi said letting the two pass through.

“I sorta was a while ago.” Ni~ya said walking slowly to the couch. The group of people followed him, like a mass of flies around garbage. Sakito sat close to Ni~ya and put on a brave smile, ‘Feeling better?” Ni~ya smiled at Sakito, almost believing that he wasn’t broken at the moment. “Much. I can breathe better.” Chiyo smiled, “I’m glad to hear. So Dad’s been wondering where you’ve been this whole time, I told him that you were off at a friend’s place. He wants you to come home.”

Ni~ya’s eyes narrowed, “I’m not coming back.” Spoken with a deadpan voice. Chiyo nodded, “I figured that. So I told him that already.” “We gathered up your things and placed them in a storage unit, until you can figure things out.” Ruka said lighting up. “What the Hell is going on? Did your father beat you?” Sakaguchi-san asked. Ni~ya looked up at the man, “He did. And I don’t want the police involved; I just want to stay away from him.” ‘Can I ask why he did it?” the younger closed his eyes, “He disapproved a choice I made, a rather large decision.” “I’m not here to say who’s right or wrong but I hope this choice is worth all this.” Sakito butted in, “it was worth it. It makes him happy, I can tell.” Sakaguchi-san then left the room. “So when are you going to tell him you’re gay and Ni~ya will be living with you?” Hitsugi asked.

“Mom, can Ni~ya stay here for a bit?” Sakito asked his mother. She pulled her head from the fridge, with a small smile on her face, “It’s ok with me. Just make sure he follows the rules, and tell him no smoking in the house.” Sakito nodded, “Thank you mom.” Mrs. Sakaguchi nodded and went back to find something for dinner. Sakito walked back into his room, with a smile on his face, he finally got what we wanted. Opening the door he was greeted by a mass of man on his bed.

“Mom said you can stay.” The mass growled and rolled over, “Sweet.” Sakito nodded and slunk over to the mass, lying down next to him. “Ruka and Chiyo will get your things by the end of this week.” The taller man wrapped and arm around the waist of the smaller one, “What will I wear until I get my things?” Sakito groaned, ‘I didn’t think of that. Maybe I have a few things you can wear here.” Ni~ya shifted a bit, “I hopes it none of the clothes that Chiyo picked out, I don’t like looking like a girl you know.”

“OK, that’s the last of it.” Chiyo said placing the last of Ni~ya’s clothes in Sakito’s rather large closet. Ni~ya was sprawled out on the bed, gasping for air, it was the most he had worked out since he had been beaten by his father. “Thank god, if I had to wear another knitted sweater, I was going to have to start running around nude.” “Did someone say nude?” Sakito’s mother said popping her head in. “So Yue-chan, did you get everything moved in?” She said using his sister’s nickname for him.

“Yeah,” he said nodding and smiling. “Thank you for letting me live here.” She waved him off, “After what I heard, I couldn’t let you go back there, something could happen and would be worse and I couldn’t’ let Takahiro lose a dear friend.” Sakito blushed, he knew his mother knew a bit on the extent of the two’s relationship. “Well I made lunch so if you all would like to stay and eat, go right ahead I made enough.” Yomi perked up, along with Hitsugi, “Food!” the two raced downstairs, followed by Chiyo, Ruka and Sakaguchi-san, leaving Sakito and Ni~ya alone. Sakito kissed Ni~ya cheek lightly, “Let’s go get something to eat.” Ni~ya nodded, following his boyfriend down the stairs.

After lunch the group decided to head back upstairs to play video games. “Hey Chiyo, you need a nickname like the rest of us.” Hitsugi said from the floor, Chiyo look down at him from Sakito’s chair, “Why?” Yomi piped in, ‘You are one of us now. You’re a freak and your nick name will be…” Ruka then cut him off, “Zanin.” Hitsugi, Yomi and Chiyo looked at him, “It fits her.” He said emotionless. Ni~ya nodded, “I think it does.” Sakito smiled, “Welcome Zanin” Chiyo smiled, “I’m glad to be a part of this rag tag group.” She said bowing in her seat.

Ni~ya had a hard time catching back up in school. His grades had dropped somewhat and the lessons were all new to him. Luckily Sakito had been going to school since the new year so he was helping Ni~ya get back on his feet. Ni~ya rolled over onto his back looking over at Sakito, “Thanks for helping me out.” Sakito simply smiled, ‘No need to thank me.” The younger got up and grabbed Sakito’s jaw, he lowered his face and kissed the older, “No really, thank you.”

Sakito blushed heavily, Ni~ya’s finger still lingering on his jaw. The older grabbed the younger’s shirt and pulled him in for another kiss. Breaking for air Ni~ya yawned. “What time is it Saki-kun?” Sakito flipped his cell phone open, “Almost midnight.” Ni~ya laid down on the bed, pushing the books and notebooks off of his side, “Good Night!” Sakito grunted, “We haven’t even began on your other subjects and now you want to sleep?”

The younger rolled onto his back, “Yeah, a good sleep pattern is good for learning.” Angered by the smirk on his boyfriends face he got out of his chair and sat down on the bed, looming over him. “I don’t want you to sleep.” Ni~ya’s smirk faded as he seen the look Sakito gave him. Sakito bit his lip; he didn’t want the tears falling. “Saki, what’s wrong?” the younger said sitting up quickly. “I just… I don’t want you to leave me.” Ni~ya smiled, “I’m not going to leave you. Did I when my brother gave me a choice?”

The lithe one touched the place where Ni~ya was first stricken. It had healed perfectly; you couldn’t even tell it had been broken once. Ni~ya kissed Sakito’s hand, “let’s some sleep.” Sakito nodded curling up to Ni~ya. The younger smiled and wondered, who was going to turn the lights off…
