Name: Yazoo
Fandom: Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children
Timeline: After his death in FFVII world
Age: 18-20 in Appearance (about 2 years in reality)
Appearance: A tall male, close to about six feet, with long locks of silvery white hair and liquid green eyes. The eyes appear to be slits, like a cat's eye only a bit more elaborate. He's pretty broad built, slim and small, with muscles on his arms and stomach. His skin is pale, like most characters, a peachy white. His attire is usually leather clad clothing, of complete black, with interesting boots and at his side a place to hold hold his gunblade. Usually appears emotionless, almost like a doll.
Abilities:
Strengths and Agility: Just like his brothers, he is quite strong and agile, but he isn’t as agile as Loz. In many ways his speed is portrayed, he can dodge very narrowly and during the part in the movie where he was fighting Cloud, he managed to dodge the first time, but the second, he only manages himself to jump onto the blades and leaped away to his own safety. The agility he possesses is often used distance himself from his opponents, and not allowing them to get close to him and usually aims and fires at a distant with his Velvet Nightmare. As seen in the movie also, Yazoo is capable of perfect aim, and hardly ever misses his target.
Velvet Nightmare Use: His Velvet Nightmare’s design also shows that he could parry opponents’ attacks with it but only a good close range. With that said, he usually battles alongside with Loz, whose physical attacks themselves and hard brute strength compliments with Yazoo’s agility and long range tactics, making the two brothers a pretty dangerous tag team in battle.
Hand to Hand Combat/Martial Arts: He is also portrayed as a hand to hand combat fighter, using hardcore martial arts to attack. Yazoo’s stoic and calm expressions usually are quite deceptive to his real feelings. He doesn’t always display them on his face. His expressions again, are limited to only varied times throughout Advent Children, that his face cracks. He seems to be quite tactical and bold, with a habit of criticizing others in negative ways, with a rather emotionless and monotone voice.
Summoning of Monstrosities in the Movie: His character is rather a strong type, and when he doesn’t get his ways, he summons these monstrosities, like in the part of the movie where Loz and Yazoo were standing in the middle of the city near a statue, where they placed all the children that were manipulated by Kadaj. The simple interference of an adult male, caused him to only look at the man with a displeased face, and then eliminating those who questioned what he was doing. A mastered sharp shooter with his Velvet Nightmare gun, Yazoo rarely misses his targets.
Personality:
He doesn’t talk a lot, and when he does, merely small sentences are spoken, or questions to be asked, waiting for answers. Other than that, he only shows his words through his limited facial expressions. Yazoo is quite similar to Sephiroth, though, Kadaj resembles the man a lot more than Loz and Yazoo. In general, Yazoo is the charisma and aloof demeanor, but without the other traits of Sephiroth, he appears and acts rather effeminate. His personality is alluring and cool, calm and collected at most times. His expression is indifferent when he does his tasks, always a small straight forward look. He neither seems angry or upset. He is a sort of shady character, with a mysterious aura, and little to know about him.
He does not appear a lot during the Advent Children film, allowing him to seem more mysterious and dangerous. Unlike Kadaj or Loz, he seems to be the mature one of the group, one with limited facial expressions. During encounters, for example with Reno when he insults Jenova, or when Cloud slices apart his Velvet Nightmare gun, he shows forms of facial expressions, that Yazoo isn't completely emotionless, despite the times that he appears to be doll-like. His cool demeanor are also meant to decipher the difference between a straight man to a childish Loz, as to when he teases Loz about crying many times. A teasing personality, is also a personality that he possesses, and only shows every so often. It adds to his mysterious nature.
He has Sephiroth’s taunting opponents during battle, and sometimes has the habit of sarcastically criticizing others, even his own brother, Loz. He seems to find a form of amusement when he teases Loz for countless of things. He will do anything to find Jenova, and determined to find her one way or another, but he seldom shows that he cares as much as his brothers. In a way his brothers make up for the lack of emotions that Yazoo has during many scenes throughout the movie. He doesn't speak a lot, but at times passive and will always listen to the commands that are given to him by Kadaj in order to obtain Jenova. Without showing it, he is just as desperate as his brothers in finding Jenova, no matter how emotionless, and expressionless he seems about it.
Another thing about his personality is the unusual way he attracts children. As seen in Advent Children, he pretty much lures a bunch of kids in to the truck and drive off with them, though certainly there was an empty promise to be cured of their Geostigma, but he did nothing to them, only rounded them up as they freely wanted. There's no crime against a remnant taking children away to 'cure' them willingly, oh no, it's totally. Alluring Yazoo, as it is whispered. That's definitely him.
History:
Yazoo, along with his two brothers were created from Sephiroth’s scattered spirits within the Lifestream. He was not created with Geostigma, and was created merely to serve a purpose for Sephiroth’s plot to be reborn two years after the events of Final Fantasy VII, while the planet was in its early stages of recovering from an attack by a Meteor, while the survivors of Midgar started to build a new city on the outskirts of the old perished one, aptly being called Edge. Despite being born as a fragment of Sephiroth, the three Remnants are distinguished clearly as separate entities, and one having certain traits of Sephiroth than the other, making them all clearly different and at the same time similar. He is the middle brother of the group, and being the most mature and composed one of the three. He possess a blade-style firearm called The Velvet Nightmare, which is a gun with a blade connected to it, commonly known as a gun blade.
The three remnants were born without the Geostigma, which led them to kidnap the children infected with it later in the movie. Yazoo was born with a part of Sephiroth, hence is the enigmatic allure and aloof demeanor of Sephiroth, as well as his taunts and bitter criticizing during a battle. ‘During the beginning of Advent Children, the three remnants attacked Cloud Strife, believing that he knew about the location of their missing so-called ‘Mother’ or ‘Kaa-san’ as the three refers her to. It seemed that he didn‘t have ‘Mother‘ after all, so the men retreated and allowed Cloud to leave with minour injuries. . After the encounter with Cloud, the three brothers started to collect the children that were infected with Geostigma and taken them to the Capital of Ancients where Kadaj manipulates the children to believe that the tainted water that he was surfaced in, was indeed a cure for the stigma.
After successfully manipulating the children infected with the stigma, Cloud attempts to save the children by coming into the Forgotten Capital of the Ancients, and yet again faces combat with the three brothers. Yazoo was part of this fight as well, fending off Cloud with his Velvet Nightmare, shooting countless of shots at Cloud, in attempt to assist in eliminating him as a ‘traitor’ to them. After Cloud was rescued by Vincent Valentine. The brother later returned to the Edge where Yazoo and Loz were trying to destroy a monument to Meteor where they thought, and believed that Rufus had hidden Jenova. Using the Children as ‘bloodhounds’ to accomplish that attack.
Loz and Yazoo were met with Reno and Rude, where they engaged in yet another fight with the two intruders. In this portion of the movie Yazoo could be seen fighting without his weapon and using his hands and feet against Reno, while Loz was taking on Rude. Yazoo easily defeats Reno without much effort and during that time, Kadaj successfully summons Bahamut SIN to cause destruction to the city and the creature was soon defeated by Cloud, as Rufus tosses the remains of Jenova out after revealing them to Kadaj. The three brothers went for it, and Kadaj successfully attains it and they escape onto the highways to Midgar to flee from Cloud, who was chasing them very closely. As they were the freeway, Yazoo, alongside with Loz, attempt to distract and keep Cloud at bay so that Kadaj would escape with the remains of Jenova without any interference.
Using his Velvet Nightmare and getting into close combat with Cloud, he attempted to keep the other from getting the upper hand. During the battle however, Cloud manages to destroy his Velvet Nightmare, and Loz’s bike gets cut in half. Eventually, Cloud goes on ahead and leaving the two brothers in the dust. Yazoo followed soon after the recovery, seeing that they cold still catch Cloud.
Though as the blond passes Reno and Rude, they tossed a bomb into the tunnel, in attempt to kill the silver haired brothers as they drove past, or attempting to continue to pursue Cloud. However, the two brother did survive, coming back after the Cloud defeats Sephiroth and Kadaj becomes part of the Lifestream. Though, weakened and affected by the healing rain and all, and the silver haired man, alongside with Loz, attempted to take Cloud along with them, by Yazoo shooting him in the back with Velvet Nightmare, and slowly disappearing and becoming part of the Lifestream, attempted one last attack with an arm full of Materia, they prepared a final blow for the blond, resulting in a large explosion that obliterates the two remaining remnants and completely engulfs Cloud, as that was the last of their efforts to take the blond away with them, which were quite futile.
Roleplay Sample - Log:
After the encounter with Nii-san at the Capital of the Ancients, Cloud had gotten away from the three by a mysterious red cloaked stranger. He wasn’t very pleased about it. They were moments away from eliminating the traitor, but apparently, he was gone when they tried to get to him. In any case, Loz and Yazoo were standing in middle of the city, with the children that Kadaj had manipulated in believing that the water he had placed his form in was a cure for their Geostigma, and now, ever children that was infected was under Kadaj’s control. They were centered around the people of the city, with the words of the citizens spoke to them in bitter and vulgar languages, trying to get them to release the children. He merely looked at them, with a scoff from his mouth, and no words from his lips, but a small taunting laugh, before raising his leather covered palm after receiving a good nod from Loz.
It caused the people around him to look rather confused for a few moments, at least until those shadow-like dog creatures came from the ground and started to take rather unpleasant bites at them, and Yazoo, had a rather amused look on his porcelain face, locks of silvery white hair falling over his shoulders as he shifted his position back to their task. The screaming of the people could be heard. They slowly dispersed away from the two remnants, leaving them to their tasks. The long haired male started to pull on the chains of the monument alongside the short haired man, at least until footsteps and the words flowed from two bodies behind them. They slowly left their task to face whoever was interrupting, again. He looked forward towards the two men in suits starting towards them in a rather cocky manner. He admitted he was rather amused with it more than worried.
They didn’t look very challenging to his eyes. Surely, the two of them could take care of a few bugs, right? He placed a firm hand on his hip and stared at the approaching strangers, with a rather amused look on his usually calm and emotionless face. He was a man that spoke little to the others, and when he talked, he usually spoke not more than a few short sentences. He had a mysterious aura about him, that was unreadable to most, unlike Loz and Kadaj, whose emotions were easily read or shown. His were different. They were quite hidden, underneath a mask, though the mask only cracked every now and then due to events or words that would offend him personally. His head was a raised a bit, and only a small, but audible laugh could be heard from his throat, almost like a mocking laugh towards the two that approached Loz and him.
“We know, Kaa-san is here, in this monument,” he mused in a flat tone. Though, the answers from the other two claiming that they knew nothing about ‘Kaa-san’ and that they know nothing of where she was hidden. He merely frowned at that, shifting his head of silver to another side, staring at the two, before speaking again, in an emotionless tone on how ShinRa did not trust their Peons, seemed to be a rather big insult to the red head, that soon was speechless for a good few seconds before coming at him with his weapon, whatever it was. He didn’t get a chance to strike, when the large creature appeared from the sky onto the monument it rested. Then its mouth started to glow with a mixture of faded blue and light blue light, and soon firing it at the target that it wanted.
Soon after the fire of the giant ball of blue, a large explosion was taking place, as the two remnants followed after the ShinRa employees with speed as the explosion knocked a good amount of the land below up into the sky. He merely laughed a bit as the landing of the two men in suits were finished, waiting patiently there. He was taunting already, surely he would not stop at the last comment, “Having fun, yet?” he mused, again, with a cold tone, but it reeked with plenty of taunting that would get the them worked up. How easily people’s reactions to his taunts turn out. He let yet, another cold laugh from his lips, a bit more chilling than the ones before. He was surely amused and wanted to see really what these men were capable of. Then it happened, they got to their feet and attempted attack.
The first ting that came at him was the red head’s foot straight for his face, and somehow, the silver haired male was able to dodge it almost barely, then more dodging from the attacks as well as a few graceful backward flips to avoid getting hit, the male returned his own blow towards the red head, a strike that sent the other flying in the opposite direction. When the male got up again, he went swiftly for the remnant, but the remnant avoided it easily with a giant leap onto another building, about a good few forty or so feet above the other, with his trademark blank face, while speaking to the red head about when he would stop attacking them, and a harassing the city. Of course, ‘Kaa-san.’ When they got Kaa-san, they would leave them alone for the time being, after all their main objective was to get mother. He had no other reason to fight these ShinRa Employees other than the fact that he and his brothers wanted ‘Kaa-san.’

[Message to self]
The children infected by mother have become Kadaj’s puppets, I almost pity them. A new lead has been given on Kaa-san. We will be taking the children to that monument, and use them to obtain Kaa-san. It’s been too long, Kadaj has business to attend to, and it seems Loz and I have to deal with a few troublesome intruders. I dislike interruptions of my work, they delay the time we get to see Kaa-san, that isn’t very pleasing at all.
[pause here.]
They were rather amusing comedians, however, all we really want is to be with Kaa-san, nothing else would matter as long as we find her.
[brief silence]
Ah, Kadaj has Kaa-san, and Nii-san is chasing after him. We have to let Kadaj escape from Nii-san, the traitor…
[End]
----
[Message to Loz]
How dare these goons speak of mother in such an ill way. That is unforgivable.
We’ll have to stop Nii-san, Loz, or Kaa-san will not be safe. You aren’t crying again, now, are you?
[a silent laugh here]
