this is the end of the innocence
Why do we waste our ignorant bliss? I was thinking earlier today that life when you're older is that much different than when you were a kid. It's really kinda better. You have more freedom, probably more money so you can get stuff you want. If you worked and had to pay for bills when you were in high school, well you have the same responsibilities now.
So what's the difference? Why did things seems so much easier and in some instances, happier?
Well the innocence is gone. That's the only thing faultering my life. I know how cruel people and the world can be. I didn't then. So I had this ignorant bliss. Sometimes I thought life was awful, but looking back there were a lot of happy things to focus in on. There's no conceivable reason why I can't feel the same now. Except for the fact that, now, I know what awful things are out there.
So why can't we ignore it? Move on and be happy? You tell me, cause I have no clue.
