Surprisingly busy day

These all seemed very familiar - How to make yourself miserable as an artist.

I wasn't able to get far from the house (just out to post my Diary Project letter) but I've been doing lots of decluttering and a little bit of cleaning. If I do it in very small bursts I can still get things done, even though I was so tired earlier that walking was difficult.

I'm gearing up to doing my tax return by organising all the bits of papers I'll need to refer to so today I went through a box of stuff and sorted it into art papers, general filing and bank statements. I filed all the bank statements properly because I'm going to need those. The other two sections can wait until I have more time but at least they're in properly labelled boxes now. I've come to the conclusion that my filing is probably never going to be up to date so I might as well use labelled boxes so I don't have to go through such huge piles of stuff every time I'm looking for something. Perhaps I'll get it all into the filing cabinet eventually but in the meantime pragmatism is the better solution.

For dinner we all sat down and ate a delicious coconut chicken curry that the Kidlet had cooked at school. I made a yummy lentil dahl and rice to go with it. It was very good and he was thoroughly pleased with himself. He wants to do more household cooking so Cat is going to make curry with him again on Saturday.

This evening I watched Waking The Dead with Cat and then tried to get my jewellery sketchbook up to date. I have a tutorial tomorrow so I'm trying to make it look like I've done a bit more work than I actually have. My sketchbooks in both my jewellery and my art have been woeful lately; for some reason I've just fallen out of the habit. I'm hoping to update my art sketchbook later this week but unfortunately the damn tax return has to take precedence. Still, as I was going through my image box looking for jewellery related images, I also picked out the ones that relate to my current art work so I suppose I did some art sketchbook work this evening too.
