(Creative) update
Need to get back into these again - I've been writing an original piece which is currently at 5k, but today I have typed up 772 words of fanfic (Open Arms, yay) which will probably be the first scene of the chapter.
I'm nowhere near meeting my word count target for this year - it seems as though as soon as I set it, I abandoned my writing (the grand goal of slightly exceeding last year's word count in fanfic alone, using AO3 to measure it). I'm getting around to it again though, so we'll see if I catch up. I wasn't intending to use original work towards it, but given where my attention has been, I could.
I've been playing around with CoffeeScript - and it is playing, since it's so much fun - so I might take that up and use it to learn/write JavaScript which I've tried a few times over the years but never found such an easy way in. (Link - CS on the left and JS on the right, click Run for the output)
I've been crawling along with my Japanese study as well, trying to get through kanji and the grammatical elements in a more structured way. It's awesome having so much material at the local uni library that I can access as a member of the public.
In terms of DW I have a couple of books about journalling which I might use as a starting point for posts just to get me going again.
