(no subject)
As much as I am looking forward to my upcoming move this Wednesday [MY VERY OWN PLACE!], I am also dreading it. I still have yet to pack, though I really didn't unpack from the last move so it's more just a matter of taking items from my dresser and putting them in boxes, and packing up some books and dvds. Easy peasy lemon squeezy. Right? Right? The unpacking is also something I'm dreading, but I have Thursday and Friday off work so I can hopefully tackle a large amount in that time. Hahahaha sure. I'll keep telling myself that.
In crappy news, my car window broke yesterday while I was at work. Whether it was on purpose [nothing was stolen that I can tell and TRUST ME there was enough in there to take] or just caused by the heat [which I didn't know could happen?] is yet to be determined and I suspect never will be. Sigh. So my little car is currently sporting a garbage bag secured with packing tape from work on it's back passenger side window. I feel ridiculously trailer trash-ish. I have to call back to the repair place tomorrow and see what they can find for me. That's one downside to having an older car - parts aren't quite as common.
Day 25 - A song that makes you laugh
I can't listen to this song without giggling to myself, especially since seeing him live this past May. It's probably my favourite song of his and Laura told me how during this song he always gets up on his piano near the end. I couldn't recall if she said he closed his shows with this song or not, so during the entire show he kept playing awesome songs but I was just WAITING for this one, crossing my fingers that it would be on the setlist. And it was. I have video of his performance of it here in Victoria but I'm singing like a madwoman the entire time, so I'm not about to post it. I am posting a live version of this song though so that you can all his his adorableness. Because really. ADORABLE. *swoon*
Day 26 - A song that you can play on an instrument
During the six years that I played clarinet, this is one of the only songs I can recall playing, other than the obvious ones such as Claire De Lune, or "Let's Go Band". Or the song Wipeout. That was pretty fun. And strangely enough, I can only recall the names of ones that I played in elementary school - none from high school.
The crazy part is that while listening to this, even though I haven't touched a clarinet in over a decade I remember some of the notes/finger positioning. WHICH IS SORT OF SCARY. I'm not even joking, there are certain runs/phrases in there where I know "ah, yes, that was a bit tricky going over the break" [I EVEN REMEMBER THAT TERM - it's a clarinet thing]. Come to think of it, I wonder if any groups in town would be open to accepting a washed up haven't-played-a-note-in-years clarinet player. Hmmm.
