Oh hey there! I've dropped off the face of the planet!
I honestly didn't even log into LJ at all last week. Which is saying something. Even if I don't always comment I'm always reading entries.
Last Monday I returned to work after ten weeks off after my shoulder surgery. Not only did I return to work full on 40 hours, but I started at a new location [same company]. In a different city an hour and a half away from where I currently live. As a manager.
Basically for the last week and a half my time has been spent either at work, driving, eating on occasion or sleeping. Luckily last week I stayed at a friend's place in Victoria and didn't have to do any back and forth for the first bit, but I did a fair bit of commuting for the weekend/early this week. Entirely my choice though; I easily could have crashed in Vic. How on earth people in Vancouver, or elsewhere, commute for an hour and a half one way in start and stop traffic is beyond me. At least I only deal with bumper to bumper traffic for about twenty minutes each way, depending on the time and day. Then the rest is just highway driving, which doesn't bother me at all.
I finally found a place in Victoria though this past weekend and that has taken a huge load of stress off of me. I still want to throw up when I start to think about the actual move and how the hell it's going to happen, but hopefully I can start to tackle that tomorrow and get it figured out before the weekend.
To say I'm feeling a little overwhelmed these days is a bit of an understatement. But for right now, I figure as long as the store doesn't burn down I'm doing an ok job.
