Living Room Maki/Koyama
The tiny paw rested comfortably in her hand as she played with the cat. Nyanta looked up into Maki’s eyes and blinked curiously. Her back straightened stiffly when she was reminded about where she was. Sitting alone with a cat in the living room of a man she was kind of only aquatinted with. How did she end up here to begin with?
She nodded to herself when she remembered that he offered to drive her to the restaurant where Yamapi was holding a small birthday get-together for her. Nyanta nipped gently on Maki’s fingertip, ripping her out from her thoughts.
“Ah! You’re bleeding,” she felt a hand on her elbow, pulling her up from her seat on the floor and leading her over to the couch. Maki watched Koyama run into the bathroom to retrieve antiseptic spray and a bandage. “I’m sorry! Nyanta does that sometimes when you don’t pay attention.”
“I’m alright. I don’t even think it even needs a bandage,” Maki offered. It was just too awkward. This man she barely knew worrying over her so much.
“Nonsense. Open cuts could get infected. They need to be covered,” Koyama sat beside her and put his hand on her knee to shift her so they were facing one another. Once again, Maki could not get over how awkward this all was. This man she barely knew was now touching her knee.
Koyama seemed intent on cleaning her cut and bandaging it. Smiling slightly to himself, he leaned down to kiss the band-aid.
Maki stiffened a bit by his warm lips through the rubber and cotton. He caught her off guard. It was just so very awkward. This man she barely knew just kissed her finger.
“My mother did that all the time,” he adverted his gaze shyly.
Maki looked down at Nyanta on the carpeted floor and blinked. It was all so very awkward. This man she barely knew just made her heart flutter.
Dressing Room Maki/Kame
Maki walked into the dressing room expecting to find chaos like she normally did when she visited KAT-TUN. But today it was dead quiet and Kame was the only one inside. He was laying on the couch with his arm over his face, blocking the fluorescent lights above him. Maki set down the small bag she had been carrying with her on the table next to the door and quietly walked over to him.
Kneeling beside him, she gently brushed his hair away from his face and smiled to herself. He was such a hard worker. He was probably going to have to work even longer tonight so he could have this hour to spend with her on her birthday. Another hour less of sleep. Maki could probably count the amount of time he was in bed this week on one hand.
She was deep in thought when she was interrupted by lips pressed against her own. Her eyes widened when she noticed that Kame had awoken and was now kissing her. “Happy birthday,” he said against her lips.
Maki pulled away and her face flushed. “Thank you.”
“Not a lot of women come to visit their boyfriends at work on their own birthday,” Kame yawned as he sat up.
“I don’t mind one bit,” she took the seat that he offered beside him and rested her head on his shoulder.
“I have to go back to work in an hour,” Kame reminded her remorsefully, stroking her hair.
“That’s alright.” The bag filled with expensive bentos for two lay forgotten on the table while the couple just sat together and enjoyed their quiet time together in their busy schedules.
Cafe Maki/Jun
He didn’t expect to find her here at the cafe. Alone as well. Jun never met this Horikita Maki woman, but he knew her. He had seen her around other circles of friends. She’s the Horikitty that Toma and Shun would drunkenly chatter about on their outings. She’s the one Kame would speak fondly of when they discussed costars they found easiest to work with. But for Yamapi it was different. She was the one that got away for him. Yamapi made it known to all his friends that he regretted never reciprocated her feelings when they worked together. The way everyone made it sound, Yamapi had a ton of chances to fix his dumb ways. Jun knew that Pi would overanalyze everything that happened in the relationship and always assume a negative ending. He was such a coward sometimes.
Jun never understood the big deal about her. Sure, her eyes were beautiful. But there were hundreds of others with large eyes. She seemed too quiet. Too reserved. Too boring. To Jun, she was forgettable.
But he was curious. He was curious to learn more about the woman everyone kept talking about. So grabbing his cup of coffee, he walked over from the booth he was sitting at alone to sit across from her.
Her eyes widened slightly as she slowly set down the book she was reading. “I know you,” she whispered quietly, confused about his intrusion.
“Jun Matsumoto,” he replied smoothly, taking a sip from his warm drink.
“You’re friends with Toma-kun!” Maki smiled to herself, happy that she made the connection.
Jun raised an eyebrow, wondering if Toma was talking about him to Maki as much as he hears about Horikitty. “Yeah, we’re friends.”
“May I ask you why you’re sitting with me?”
Jun shrugged, not really aware of the answer himself. “I just wanted to meet you I guess. I hear about you all the time at work.”
She tilted her head, “I hope it’s nothing negative.”
Jun wanted to ask her about Yamapi. As her about what happened between the two of them. Jun just wanted to know.
“It’s my birthday today you know,” Maki smiled sadly at the cup that rested in her hands.
His eyes widened. What was she doing alone on her birthday? Someone with as much friends as she had and she was sitting by herself at a cafe? It didn’t make much sense to him. “What are you doing here?”
“Waiting. I’m waiting for someone to change their mind about me.”
“I’ll wait with you. I hate the idea of someone spending their birthday alone,” Jun offered, making himself more comfortable in his seat.
Maki offered him a weak smile and nodded. “Thank you.”
They waited hours together. Sometimes discussing random subjects from movies to friends. Sometimes they were so deep in their thoughts they forgot they were sitting together at the cafe. Jun was finally beginning to see what the fuss about this Horikita Maki was all about.
He never showed up. And outside the cafe after closing when Maki buried her face into Jun’s chest to muffle the sounds of sobs he knew that he she was not forgettable. He just wished that Yamapi was.
Farm Maki/Aiba
Maki stood frigidly with her arm outstretched and a carrot clamped tightly in her hand. Her eyes were squeezed shut tightly and she could feel her nerves building up within her. That horse was going to bite her hand off. It was a beautiful horse. It was an almost mahogany shade with a shiny mane. But it was enormous. It could eat her along with the carrot she was holding out.
“Calm down,” a giggling voice whispered in her ear.
“You’re going to get me killed on my birthday,” Maki hissed back, listening in for the footsteps of the horse.
“I thought it would be fun to come here together,” she could practically hear the pout. Aiba was always so quick to react emotionally.
“I’m sorry. It is fun. I’m just-”
“Scared?”
“Nervous,” Maki frowned, waiting for a reply. Instead a warm hand covered her own around the carrot and she could feel his other arm wrap around her shoulder.
“Come on Mister Horse!” Aiba called in a sing-song voice and Maki stiffened when she heard the footsteps.
There was a loud crunch sound and then a loud laugh coming from Aiba when she winced.
“His teeth are so large!” Aiba shook her gently, “Open your eyes!”
Maki cracked one eye slowly and looked at the beautiful creature in front of her. She finally relaxed at the innocence and opened her eyes. “Thank you,” she smiled, giving Aiba a gentle peck on the cheek.
Backstage Maki/Hiro
Maki looked warily at the Nintendo DS that was gripped in Hiro’s hands. He was doing another commercial for a game and the filming happened to be on her birthday. Instead of them rescheduling a time to meet which is what Maki would have preferred doing rather than bothering him at work, he invited her over to the set. Now the two were sitting together on folding chairs behind the set while men with lights and props were scurrying around them.
“You’re not going to play that the entire time I’m here, are you?” she frowned. It took her a whole hour to get here on the train and she didn’t want to be ignored on her own birthday.
“I was turning it off,” he replied, closing it slowly. “I wasn’t that interested in video games until this endorsement. Now I can’t stop. How about you?”
Maki shrugged. “I don’t play very often.”
“Wanna try it?” he held out the counsel and she looked at it with a bit of disdain. “You look like it’s going to attack you,” Hiro teased, causing her to huff and snatch it from his grip.
After ten minutes of complaints and playing she started to get the hang of the rules and directions while Hiro sat by her side patiently instructing her. After fifteen minutes she was starting to actually enjoy the game while Hiro sat by her side utterly fascinated by her giant grins of success and snappy comments about the ‘villains’ of the game. After twenty five minutes of playing the game she managed to finish the first five levels and leaped up onto her feet while Hiro enjoyed the warm feeling that pooled in his stomach as her arms wrapped tightly around his shoulders in a victory hug.
They simultaneously pouted when it was time to film again, but Hiro invited her over to his apartment another time to play again once more and after three days he received his first victory kiss.

A/N: I know. Nintendo is totally Nino's thing. But Hiro's been filming some commercials for video games and thus this arrived.
I'm not liking the Shun and Ryo ones so I'm not posting them. Maybe. Eventually.
Toma's birthday post is up next!!!!
