I promised Ran (
nomanymore) a gift for her birthday so this is dedicated to her! It was originally a really short drabble where KAT-TUN leafs through her latest photobook, but I liked this more. Enjoy!
Horikita Maki/Kamenashi Kazuya
Ever since Maki began to date Kame she learned more and more that his life wasn’t entirely dedicated to work. Nor was it now dedicated to her, not that it bothered her. Kame’s heart belonged to baseball, or as his group-mates liked to tease, ‘the one that got away’.
It didn’t terribly upset Maki how much Kame loved baseball, she had her own hobbies and passions. And televised games meant guaranteed nap time. Which is what she was currently doing at Kame’s apartment while the two were on his couch.
Aside from the occasional congratulatory yelp from her boyfriend, sleeping with her head resting on his lap was very relaxing. With his fingers running absently in her hair, he would concentrate on the game.
“YES!” Kame shouted, leaping off his couch and forcing Maki to wake from her afternoon slumber. His fist still in the air, he looked over at the awake Maki and frowned slightly. “Sorry for waking you up.”
Maki only waved her hand and slowly sat up. “I sleep too much anyways,” she said with a large yawn. “What happened?”
“Home run,” he replied with a grin.
She nodded happily. Maki knew what a home run was, but she knew better than to initiate a conversation about baseball to Kame. He could go on and chatter about baseball for hours, even if the other didn’t know anything about it. He would just then talk enough for both of them.
“That’s his second one in this game. Isn’t that great?” Maki couldn’t help but pull the happy man on the couch beside her. Wrapping her arm around his shoulders she rested her head on his chest.
“It’s great,” Maki nodded, feeling his hand snake around her and she was soon pulled onto his lap.
“You’re warm,” Kame smiled, his face nuzzling her neck, causing her to fidget slightly.
“You’re missing the game,” she murmured as his lips began to press against her jaw slowly.
Kame grabbed the remote with his free hand and turned the television off, before pressing his lips against hers once more and burying his hands in her hair.
“This is better than a nap,” she muttered in between kisses, “Is the better than baseball?”
“Definitely,” he answered honestly, because at the moment it was. But Kame didn’t want to ruin the mood by telling her that Maru was taping it over at his place.
A/N: This could have been a smutty fic. America loves it’s baseball sex metaphors.
Horikita Maki/Akanishi Jin
“Is Toma a better soccer player than I am?” Jin asked once more, his sweaty arm wrapping it’s way around Maki’s shoulder.
How did she end up on this soccer field anyways? Alone with him as well. Stupid Toma. They were supposed to shoot a soccer scene for the Hana Kimi special in a week when she realized that she didn’t know anything about playing the sport. Why couldn’t they play basketball instead?
Originally Toma promised her that he would help her out. Show her how to kick, or at least how to look convincing. Yet now he was busy preparing for another show and was too busy to have a day off that would go along with hers. She asked him if there was anyone else who could help her, or if he knew anyone that would. He gave her Jin’s name reluctantly. Part of her said he would do mainly out of spite for her costar and friend.
She could handle the infamous playboy, right?
Maki gave him another look of annoyance and tried to shake him off of her. “He said you play dirty. Come on, you said you would teach me how to pass the ball.”
Jin gasped dramatically, placing his hand on his hip as he gave her a mock glare. “I don’t!”
“For the past hour all you’ve done was abandoned the ball and chase me!”
“To build your endurance!” he defended himself.
“To kiss me!” Maki stomped her foot on the grass below.
Jin rolled his eyes. “It worked though, didn’t it?”
“Let’s just play, okay?”
“Fine,” he sighed, rolling the ball underneath his foot. His eyes became comically wide for a moment and Maki watched, frozen where she stood, as he slowly fell onto his back on the grass below.
“Are you okay?” she jogged over to the fallen figure and kneeled beside him. Jin only took deep breaths, trying to ignore the embarrassment of looking like a fool in front of her. Then again, like his friends always said, being Jin it would always happen.
‘Think quick!’ he shouted inwardly. ‘Play it cool!’ Suddenly a wide grin spread across his face and Maki’s eyes widened slightly. Grabbing her arms, he spun the two of them around so she was lying on the grass beneath him. “I lied. I play dirty.”
Maki rolled her eyes, “Get off me.” She attempted to sit up but her lips bumped against his cheek.
“You started it,” he winked, before lunging in for a kiss.
Maki hated the idea of having to clean the grass stains on her back later but another thing Toma told her about Jin was that he didn’t care about others’ complaints. But when his lips pressed against her neck she couldn’t even remember the problem.
Horikita Maki/Junnosuke Taguchi
The jar was filled with colorful sea shells. Swirls of pale pinks, dark greens and light blues decorated the large glass jar. The shells were large and small; round or cones. Each and every one of them. Yet there were so many beautiful shells scattered on the beach that could be collected, but Maki only had one jar.
“Mine’s full!” Maki grinned triumphantly, looking around the shore for her boyfriend. It was hard to miss the tall and lanky Junno. “Doesn’t this look great? I’m thinking about giving it to Meisa.”
“Why not to me?” Junno pouted, and the site made her laugh. He looked like an overgrown child, with his pleading expression and colorful swimming trunks.
“You have your own,” she explained before looking at his jar before becoming confused. “Why is your jar empty? We’ve been here for two hours.”
“It’s not empty,” he replied with a large grin, giving the jar a shake. That’s when she noticed that there were a couple coins inside. She took a step forward and frowned when she saw what was inside. Three 500 yen coins.
“We were supposed to be collecting shells.”
“But I collect these. And I found three of them today!” Junno said proudly.
“Why are you collecting these? Shells would make a beautiful knick-knack for your living room. What do you plan on doing these anyways?”
Junno could only give her a mysterious grin as he watched the breeze from the beach flow through her hair and blue sundress. He held onto Maki’s hand tightly and leaned down to press a kiss to her forehead. “It’s a surprise,” he murmured against her skin.
Maki’s face only reddened slightly at this contact. “I’m still giving this jar to Meisa.”
Horikita Maki/Tanaka Koki
Maki ignored the glances she got from customers at the music shop that would walk past her and her date with the slight look of distain on their faces. However, she wasn’t going to ignore how different the two of them looked. As they sat together on the piano bench, Maki couldn’t help but study her date’s profile. His baseball cap was askew, his jeans were three sizes too big for him and the shirt that was draped over him looked like it could be used as a bed sheet. Gangsta. That was the look he was going for. No one that passed would know that beneath his tough exterior he was marshmallow who would go to music stores with her to play random pianos.
Her, a lot less loud with her fashion choices, more elegant. They were opposites yet here they were at the music shop. Together.
Her fingers ran hesitantly over the ivory keys of the piano and she gave Koki an uncertain expression. “Again?”
“Come on, I’m not going to laugh. Promise,” he sent her a reassuring smile, exposing his lone golden tooth.
Maki rolled her eyes, “You have to promise you aren’t going to start singing again.”
“We’ll see. It’s what I do Maki. It’s in my blood,” he gave her a goofy smile and she winced. He would going to act like a fool once more.
Shaking her head slowly, Maki began to play one of the few songs she had memorized on the piano. Which happened to be one of KAT-TUN’s because Koki had taught her how to play that weeks before.
From the corner of her eye, she could see Koki drumming his hands on his thighs and nodding along to the music. He was biting his lip harshly, trying his best not to embarrass her once more.
Yet during the second chorus he couldn’t help but sing along loudly, which led to a fan to scan the shop to find the familiar voice. The couple hurriedly snuck through the back exit that led to an alley.
“That’s another music store we’ve been chased out of,” Maki grimaced, shooting him a playful glare.
“Let’s go to another one,” he smirked, wrapping his arm tightly around her waist as the two walked through the alley.
Horikita Maki/Ueda Tatsuya
The memory always played out like a fairy tale in Ueda’s head. The setting was a dark forest filled with haunting skeletons of the bare trees and animals with red eyes and sharp teeth. The characters were harsh and demanding parents and the small crying young boy forced to abandonment in the scary forest. At the time he couldn’t understand the motives of the action.
It was all too much, he had way too much on his shoulders. He couldn’t be perfect at everything, right? They thought he could. And because he wasn’t he was left at the mountains by himself. It was only for a couple hours, yet because he was so young his imagination ran wild. Would he have to hunt for food? Build a home in the trees? Could he eventually even talk to animals? No. He would forever hide and wait patiently for his parents to come back.
He remembered the relief he felt when he saw the expensive car in the distance. He stood up from his position huddled under a hallowed tree and ran over to them, tears streaking down his fearful face.
“Did you learn your lesson?”
Lesson? Another one? Ueda didn’t even know this was something else he had to learn. What was to be learned by abandoning a boy in the mountains alone?
He told himself he would never go back. Never go back to those memories of abandonment and confusion. Never go back to that forest. Yet here he was again. However, not alone.
Rays of the sunlight snuck through the branches of the tree and Ueda shielded his eyes. It looked much different this time. There were actually leaves growing on the trees. The grass had actually been green and the animals were friendly yet shy. Not the kind that wanted to eat him alive like he had thought before.
“Do you still hate coming here?” Maki asked quietly, her hand slowly reaching for his. He couldn’t understand why he brought her along over here. This was only their second date but he already wanted to open up to her about his dark childhood.
He never met anyone like her. He actually never was the one to initiate dates or anything in the first place. But after her appearance at Cartoon KAT-TUN he found himself asking Kame casually for her phone number and receiving a lopsided smile. He just couldn’t get her out of his head that day they met. Especially her gaze, while she listened intently as another talked. She seemed like a great listener. And Ueda didn’t talk very much but for some reason, that’s all he wanted to do when she was around, because he knew that she would definitely be listening.
He didn’t even call her to ask her out on their first date. Rather, he texted her the name of a cafe and asked her if she wanted to meet him there. Her reply was a simple yes but it made him smile the rest of the day.
He was shocked by himself on their date. All he seemed to be doing was talking. She would nod along, interject her opinions once in a while and sometimes offer soothing advice. When she patted his hand near the end of the date after he finished venting about his anxiety over his upcoming solo concert he knew that he would ask her for a second date.
Now they were in the forest that terrified him as a child. Yet Ueda only stared at their intertwined fingers and shot her a wide grin. The memories of the constant fear of rustling noises and the anxiety of wondering when he would be found were pushed into the back of his head. There was no setting now. There was only her hopeful smile.
Horikita Maki/Nakamaru Yuichi
The sound of running water was only interrupted by the occasional break of beatboxing. It was a habit that he didn’t even realize that he was doing sometimes. If Maru was alone at his apartment he would spend his whole time beatboxing in the bathroom (except when brushing his teeth, he learned that the hard way). But now he would interrupt his habit when he realized he was doing, because this morning he wasn’t alone in his apartment.
As he turned off the water from the shower he rested his forehead against the cool tiles on the wall. Luck. Pure luck. That was the only way Horikita Maki was in his bathroom right now, wearing nothing but his blue robe, which was too long for her and dragging on the floor.
He hastily ran a towel over his body to dry off, reluctant to go out of the bathroom naked while she brushed her teeth.
“You know, I’ve already seen you naked. We did just spend the night together,” Maki called out through her toothbrush, looking in the direction of the shower and smiling widely.
Maru could only squeak and wrap the towel around his torso, holding it tightly. Sure, they have seen each other naked, but it was dark. He wasn’t ready for giving her a clear view, even though the image of her last night was permanently engraved into his head. He quickly shook his head, no perverted feelings this early in the morning.
“Good morning,” she grinned widely at him as he walked over to the sink.
“Good morning,” he repeated, kissing the top of her head gently. How could someone smell so good in the morning?
“Do you want to have breakfast together?” she asked as she began to prepare the facial cleanser.
He watched in horror as she wastefully put the soap onto her fingers. She placed the soap on her palm rather than her fingers and began to rub them together. The water to soap ratio was way off!
“Wrong,” he said flatly, walking over to her side and grabbing the bottle out of her hand.
“Hm?” she paused, looking up at him confused. “What’s wrong?”
“Let me do it,” Maru began to move his hands rapidly and she watched in awe as foam quickly began to form. She could tell it was something he was proud of while she saw the small smile on his face.
“You’re not done yet,” she tilted her head as he held out his hand with the mound of foam on it.
“What?”
“Finish what you started,” she finished with a soft voice, wrapping her hands around his wrists and moving him in closer to him. She led his hands to her face and he finally took the hint.
With a deep blush, his fingers ran over her face and spread the facial cleanser. She sighed as his fingers lingered on her forehead, massaging her temple slightly. She loved his hands. Gosh, did she love his hands. His fingers seemed to have a mind of their own, instantly releasing built tension that she didn’t even know existed.
He finished with a sheepish smile and Maki groaned softly at the loss of the warm contact. “Thanks,” she replied with a wink, before she turned to the sink and rinsing.
Maru could only remain frozen in his spot, still not over what had just occurred.
“But I don’t understand something,” Maki began as she dried her face with the hand-towel.
“Don’t worry, I’ll show you how to do it again.”
“Not that,” she smiled wickedly at him and stood on her tip toes so her lips reached the shell of his ear, “I don’t understand why you’re so shy about touching my face when you’ve been standing there naked for the past five minutes.”
Maru’s jaw dropped in horror as he looked down. His towel had indeed fallen. With a loud squeak, he grabbed the towel and hurriedly wrapped it around him once more before running out of the bathroom.
A/N: I totally believe that Maki would be the ‘S’ in this relationship. Which rocks. =P
There is a theme to all of these drabbles. If you can tell me what they all have in common I'll write you a comment drabble fic thingy as a prize (hint: baseball, soccer, 500 yen coins, piano, mountains, facial cleanser COME ON). Just leave a pairing and prompt with it! (AKA I need to escape homework so help!)
EDIT: The comment drabble is open to anyone. =)
