This tutorial is for roguedemonhunte. It shows how you get the icon on the right from the base on the left.
Step I
First I sharpened my base and duplicated it 3 times. I set all three duplicated layers to screen, the first to 100% screen the other two both to 50%. On one of the 50% layers I erased the parts of his face. I wanted the background to be very light.
Step II
Create a new Layer and fill it with #000636. Set the layer to exclusion at 68%.
Step III
Another new layer. Fill it with #DBAE8D and set the layer to soft light at 100%
Step IV
And another new layer :P This time fill it with #710303 and set the layer to burn. Opacity at 20%.
Create another new layer and set it to burn at 100%. The colour for this one is #AEE1FE.
Step V
I used the texture on the left from Trex-Tures on a new Layer and set that one to overlay 100%.
Step VI
Another texture also by Trex-Tures. Set it to burn 100% and you will get the result on the right.
I only wanted the effect on the left side of the icon so I erased the right part. which gave me the texture how it looks on the left(with transparent parts) and the icon on the right.
Step VII
I used the gradient on the left and set it to exclusion 100%. the result looks like this. Last but not least duplicate your base drag it on top and set it to soft light 100%. And tadah we are finished :D
