So, lastnight I was in the grocery store and there was this guy ahead of me in line, he looked like he was probably homeless, or at least really poor and pretty old. He was wearing a big dirty coat with the hood up and under it he was wearing this stocking cap that was black and pink with a HUGE pink pom-pom on the top. He was really polite and let me know when there was room for my stuff on the conveyor thing and I noticed he was only buying two things, a box of ginger snaps and a tiny carton of strawberry milk. And it just seemed so freaking cute to me, I hate how everyone has these terrible stereotypes of homeless people that they just buy drugs and booze with the money you give them, and then here was this super cute old guy buying ginger snaps and pink, strawberry milk. So when I started checking out I told him I liked his hat, and he laughed a little and said thank you and then he asked me if I liked poems and I was like, yeah! So, he told me he sells poems for $1 and that he writes them, so I bought one from him and he stood there in line and read it to me and it was just so beautiful, and the whole encounter made me really happy. I hope I see him around again and can get a whole collection of his poems.
