an active spectator is a knowledgeable spectator who refuses identification, takes distance from what he sees and asks why it is so.

interaction alone does not make an active spectator; that is, it is not enough to engage in cyber sex or virtual flirtation nor is it enough to participate in the design of your own digital/image identity.
